I don’t think the RS will have an MSRP north of 200K. Porsche likes to follow their steady % increases proportional to each models previous price.
That said, they realize the insanity for 991 GT cars, particularly the people who absolutely must have an RS and won’t consider any other car.
So Porsche will still get more money by adding the weissach package for 30K (which most RS buyers will choose), and by charging for more RS options that were free on the .1 RS.

It seems with the RS people were buying them to sell, not to drive and use as intended. This has to be the first time something like this has happened in the Porsche world? Its frustrating when people want these cars to use and cant get one despite Porsche pumping them out in greater numbers. I was lucky to get one to order, driving the crap out of it, but am doubtful I'll get a 991.2 RS if the limited run rumors hold true, and that's a shame. No doubt sellers will get them again sadly.

That would be my guess also. Porsche seldom spends money developing and racing new GT designs without justifying the expenses as "new product development" to management.
I'd also guess some help from electric motors ala the 918
is on their new car agenda, if not on the Gt3RS-2, certainly on the upcoming new 991 replacement model, "992" or "960"

Considering I just bought a 997 GT3RS 4.0 I have to assume Porsche heard this and decided to make the new RS manual just to fork with me! lol
