Why do people keep making up **** about a flat six with swept volume greater than 4.0 liters?

Why would Porsche do that when ALL of their current 911 race engines - including the RSR - have 4.0 liter engines?

The "surprise" is probably one of the following:

1 - Weissach Package; i'd be shocked if they DIDN'T offer WP on the RS (more profit, more market segmentation, etc.)

2 - 4.0L engine with redline > 9K RPM

3 - Manual option (maybe)

How about some active aero? I agree likely 4.0L engine w a bit more power than regular 3.

Flip the motor around like the RSR.

Also hoping for active aero. I think that would make a huge difference to the performance. On straights like Kemmel and DH the current car hits a brick wall.

That would make for the perfect limited edition (for 918 VIP's) at sky high price. I'd be supportive just to learn how it performs.

The entire unibody would have to be changed...

If you've ever seen the RSR this is obvious.

3. Do you think manual is really available?
Statement was RS is performance = PDK...?

The real surprise would be that it's a Cayman underneath.

To that end, I've not seen an RSR up-close beyond a couple of shakey youtube videos stuffing the lens into various bits. If you have any literature or photos I'd love to see them.

I think it's the least likely of those scenarios, but then again why not?

Call it the GT3 RS lightweight touring whatever and limit it to 10% of GT3 RS production?

Still curious to see a Ring lap by Christian with 991.2 GT3 PDK vs a manual 991.2. Willing to bet it isnt as much difference as Porsche would make you think. Just look at ZL1 1LE time with a manual.
