I am looking for the part number for the 991.1 multifunction control unit i need to buy to make my non-MF car work with a MF wheel. my car did not have it from the factory.
I cannot find the part anywhere on a diagram site.
I have a 991.1 with Sports Steering, no MF, no heat.
It is possible to go to the 991.2 Steering with MF and with heat? Has anybody added both MF and heat?
Does anybody have pictures of the heating function? Where is the button to turn on heat?

Hi all
I am the proud owner of a ’09 997S manual transmission which I intend to swap the steering wheel.
I’ve been following closely this thread learning a lot about the parts needed and the installation process.
Here is where I am at this moment:
- Steering column module: pending to get one in the next few days. Part number: 997-613-289-01
- Airbag (new style): I just got one from a Macan that hopefully will arrive in a few days. Part number: 95B8802015QO
- Steering wheel: I got one new for a 991.2 turbo PDK nonMF from Germany. As you can see from the photos I disassembled the whole thing to get rid of the pdk paddles.
- Back cover of the steering wheel: because I have manual I will get another one for manual transmission. As the guy that did the GT3RS manual transmission project I have ordered the back cover from a Cayman GT4. Part number: 95B-419-798-B-5Q0
- Bolt for the steering wheel: I believe it's convenient to change it. It's only $10: N91020701
- Torque wrench to apply the torque to the steering wheel (37 Pounds/sq2): I didn't have one to apply so much force. I fpund this ine in home depot really cheap: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Buffalo-T...+Torque+Wrench
- Socket for the wrench to torque the steering wheel bolt: it's a SLTS1212M. I found this one really cheap: https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/CHQSLTS1212M
- For those changing the steering wheel module, remember that you will need a torx size 8 for some of the bolts. This link was very helpful to me for that part: http://www.planet-9.com/reviews/Caym...heel-swap.html
As much as I love the chrome style, my car has a lot of black in the interior so I intent to change the silver bezel (outer trim) of the steering wheel to a black one. Perhaps someone wants to do the opposite and get a look more silverish (like stealthpilot did), therefore an exchange of bezel will be perfect.
In case anyone is curious about part numbers I can get all from my steering wheel now that I took it apart. The outer trim part number is 95B-419-732-GT8 (funny thought it says Macan on the label)
Finally I would love to get the look of the 991R steering wheel. From that I need the part number of the black inserts that have bolts. Does anybody knows them???
Thanks!!

What do you need the steering column module for? I did the swap with a GT4 wheel into my 997.1 manual and only needed the wheel and airbag. No codes thrown.
Can you confirm 95B-419-798-B-5Q0 is indeed the back cover without the PDK paddle holes when you get it? I see it come up under GT4 parts, but the diagram looks like it still has the cutouts (weird).
It's good that you can now buy the inner trim pieces without multifunction from the GT4 parts catalog. Only plain black without fake bolts for now though.

Did you get the horn to work with the original steering column module, just plug&play?
Well, it has always my believe (based on the various threads about the topic) you need the steering column module to make the steering wheel communicate properly with the electronics on the car. Direct swaps in the past from 997.1 and '09 997.2 to 997.2 and 991 series steering wheels reported a nonfunctional horn.
In regards the back cover, yes, that's the right reference. I just got it from USPS but haven't tried yet to install it.
