Mine made it to the dealer (Porsche Roslyn) as well. It arrived at Davisville on the Viking Queen so it was only sitting at port for a week. At the least the release from port and transport to dealer was quick. My dealer sent me a pic of all of the 2018's that were delivered today; you can tell there was quite a backlog. Congrats to everyone who is finally getting their new cars, many of whom had to wait a lot longer than me!

Good to hear that the cars are getting to the dealerships. I'm kind of bummed. My car got to Davisville 2 weeks ago and it seems like it still hasn't left yet. Haven't been able to get a hold of my SA at Ray Catena. Was hoping to take delivery this week.

My GTS has (had?) been parked in the sun in San Diego for close to a month now.

I saw on the thread that some folks have gotten letters/emails from Porsche about inclusion of service and/or other discounts.

If you received such a letter, can you share what the original date had been for you?

Mine was originally slated for 8/5 ish, got to port around 7/18 - would be interesting to see what the cut-off was they used to determine whether the delay was long enough to warrant a letter/action on their end.

I'd much rather have a little benign surface rust on the rotors than have the dealer drive my car for 20 minutes.

It seems PCNA sends letters when they have not delivered by the dealer invoice date listed on the tracking form. This is the tracking form that the dealer has access to. Hope this helps. It doesn't hurt to call and discuss with someone at PCNA.

One of my main concerns when taking delivery of my 2018GTS. This is a 2018 just listed and it was prob sitting outside just like mine and many others for a month and half. No way am I excepting it if my rotors look like this.
My opinion, I would be more concerned for tire flatspots if the car was sitting for more than a month. Flatspots are more noticeable on high performance cars. The rotors have a lot of iron and iron oxide will always be present. The tires are over inflated during shipping but extended periods of time can lead to problems. I was told that they try to reduce this by moving cars while at port, but from the pictures and videos posted it would be really tough to move some of those cars around with limited space and access. Tell the dealer you want the rotors cleaned and to do a tire radial runout check if your concerned the car was sitting for too long.

thats great news. Dont forget pics when you take delivery.

Ps. I had some major rust on my front rotors and went back again to talk to them. They are saying it's the new floating front discs. The edges as very suseptible to rust. The rear rotors are painted so no rust. Feels like a bit of bullcrap. Can you 2018 ppl chime in. Are yours rusted too? I assume 2017 would be same rotors. I just feel weird with rusted rotors on such an expansive car.

If you wash your car at home and don't drive it to dry off the brakes before putting it away, you'll have rust almost overnight. Just drive it. If the edges still look rusted, reach in and clean with a steel wool pad. You'll be fine.
