Clutch - HELP!
Have a 2007 CS with 33k miles. Started out in 1st gear fine however wouldn't go into second. Immediately pulled over and couldn't get in any gear while engine on. Able to run thru gears with engine off. Had towed home and will tow to Indy tomorrow. Just had trans fluid replaced 500 miles ago. Any ideas?

Most likely your pressure plate failed. If you can get into gears with the engine off and not on; I'm about 99% positive that's it. If you can't get into gears with engine on or off it's most likely the shifter cable that snapped.

My guess after the shifter is the slave cylinder or air in line. Try bleeding which unfortunately is a real PITA. Have you recently blead the brakes and perhaps got air in system inadvertently?

As others have said probably pressure plate because it works with the engine off.
This is true for the 997.1. 997.2's do not have a bleeder screw on the slave cylinder because it is a recirculating system. The OP has a 2007 (997.1) so yes there is a bleeder screw on the slave cylinder.

Bingo - pressure plate. Had a bunch of other little things addressed while with indy i.e. replaced slave cylinder, weepy RMS, etc. All better now except it ate into a few grand of my mod budget;-)

If you're going to bleed the clutch and plan to keep the car for a while, as I did, you'll find it convenient to add a clutch bleeder extension line like this -

I added it and it terminates in the engine compartment. Next time I bleed the brakes and clutch, the clutch portion will be even easier than the brakes.
