Here is what looks like another but I am mindful that I don't know the difference between Cup I and Cup II, these two just looks the same to me even though different dimensions.

Neither are cup wheels.

Cup wheels were 17"; Cup 1s showed up on 92 & 93 models and Cup 2s were on 94 & 95 models.

Whether it is technically correct or not, many enthusiast refer to the standard 16" wheel as a cup 1 as it resembles that more edgy design. The 16" were the same for all 4 years of the 968. The optional 17"s were cup 1s for 92-94.5 and then cup 2 for 94.5 to 95.

Don think I've ever heard that but, absolutely doesn't mean people don't refer to the 16" version as a cup wheel when as you say, technically they are not. Mostly heard them referred to as ugly Was the very first thing I changed on my 968.

Wondered if the Cup 1 carried over into 94 MY, the 928 GTS did the same thing. First dozen or so 94s came with Cup 1s.

Well, since you asked (indirectly), you can read all about the option code 718 968s here:

http://968register.org/optionalequip...tion-code-718/

And as for your specific question,

161 1994 968 coupes were 718 cars and 51 of them had option code 403 17" cup 1 wheels. (including 8 M030 94 968s, see the M030 page)

189 1994 968 cabs were 718 cars and 55 of them had option code 403 17" cup 1 wheels.

Jeff

Also, Porsche even referred to the 16" wheel as a cup wheel in their literature.

Haha, I figured if anyone would know exact numbers it would be you. Good info!

Learned something on the 16" 5-spoke I did not know.
