Anyone else have a solution for connecting the flanges from the end of the MSDS headers on a 32V into the stock exhaust? I know that carl has a mild steel solution but I am just researching and have not dealt with this recently.
Our Header-X for the 32v headers is Stainless Steel. You may use it to connect into the stock exhaust, or the after-market larger performance exhaust when they become available again (as shown here).
We have never made the Header-X pipe in mild steel.
Sorry, i don't have any pics of the X-pipe installed to a sock exhaust. I'm sure somebody has done it, the stock exhaust fits inside our X-pipe pretty nicely.
Yes, we kept a nice section of straight pipe after the X just for those who want cats installed. You trim the Header-X to remove a piece of the pipe the length of your cat and then put it there.
No. Carl's "header x-pipe" does not fit. Not even close.
So so now I get to fight with it to make it move almost a full inch on one side or fight with him to return it without some f-ing ridiculous "restocking fee"
Fool me once (I ordered some crap 10 or 13 years ago and it was **** -oil sandwich with half inch or less oil holes) - fool me twice - I should have known better.
Got a set of DEVEK headers. Had a local exhaust shop make an x-pipe. Gave them a picture and dimensions of how big, where the and how the x goes I got from Jim Corenman/Louie Ott. The shop did a great job, fits perfect, looks exactly like what I gve them, and was surprisingly cheap.
