Sat in the 991.2 GT3 today
My Dealer asked if I'd like to go down to PCNA today and see the new .2 in person. This was a fairly limited event. Only a few people there and the new .2 along with the sport turismo were there. They even offered us warm cookies!
overall all I found the car to have fantastic lines and I like everything I saw. The front end is more aggressive. Really loved it more than I thought I would. Pics don't do it justice. What doesn't come out in the pics is the shape of the front lip. It looks very aggressive in person.
The back looks great too. The higher Wing is noticeable and the rear diffuser from the 911R is A+. Love the tinted 3D tail lights and was excited to see that the intakes look fab in person. Don't look nearly as tacked on as I thought they would. Black wingtips and satin wheels (vs gloss black from .1) are a huge improvement.
The stripe in the seats looks great too (better than pics) but I miss having gt3 embroidered in the headrest and felt the stripe plus the crest in the headrests was a bit much. . New PCM obviously looks much better.
They started the car and idled it. Sounded a bit deeper and cleaner. Hard to tell as it was indoors but it definitely sounded different at idle.

As others have pointed out, not embroidering GT3 in the headrests must allow them to manage the supply of lwb. They could be used in any car, with whatever centers (removable) are appropriate.

They had the N1 markings on them. A new compound but according to Andrew Lennon (911 product manager for PCNA) they are otherwise unchanged. He said the new compound is stickier and offers better wet performance.
He he also said, interestingly, that the suspension is significantly refined. The ride will be more compliant than even the 991.1. But when I asked if they had softened things he said absolutely not. This suspension setup is even better on the track. I talked with Andrew about the car for quite a while on a reasonably technical level and he was quite knowledgeable.

Thanks for sharing, your first shot really accentuates the aggressive design of the front valance and splitter. I think the 991.2 GT3 is a better looking car in every way than its predecessor. I have a 6 speed ordered and its going to be a very long 7 months of waiting!

^ interesting , what a great opportunity to learn such info from him , really is amazing how the Germans can continually tweak such significant improvements to an already awesome auto !

Those seats are not going to look good in most set ups.

not at all. It's extremely cohesive in person. The only point I was a bit overwhelmed was with the seats and the red stripes and the crests and the gt3 logo next to the stripes. Way too much going on. Hate that they've changed the seats. Much prefer the look of the 991.1
