Sorry...this may be a stupid question. I thought the 4 point headlight started on the Cayenne's on the 2015 model (958.2). Though it was quickly by me, I thought I saw it last night on a 958.1 GTS.

So my question is, what year did they start the 4 dot headlamps on the Cayenne? Is this what the PDLS option is or is that something different?

I had written off that 4 dot feature as I am looking at the 958.1 but last night gave me some hope. So any clarification would be very helpful!

My guesses as I'm not entirely sure, but I think the 4-dot LED started 2011+, and was optional back then.

I also think that PDLS is standard on 2015+.

The LED option has a rectangular/square projector as compared to the round BiXenon HID projectors.

Thats what I thought too...until last night. I'm 90% sure I saw a 958.1 GTS with the bar below the headlight AND the 4 dots.

I was confused and wanted to ask. I'm hoping the 958.1 PDLS option gives it.

For example, below is a picture of a 2014 GTS with PDLS that was for sale in the classifieds on this site. It has the bar strip below but also looks to have the 4 dot headlamp as well. Unless this 4 dot lamp is completely different than what I usually see on the road.

My '11 CTT has the four LED DTRLs. It was standard on the CTT and GTS but not the base model or S. At least that is what I understand.

So please correct me if I am wrong:

And this is the 958.1 headlamp:




They both have 4 Dot LED style but clearly the 958.2 stepped it up a notch.

But my question is do they both still give off the 4 dot look rather similarly in nature?

Can anyone post a picture of their 958.1 with the 4 dots on?

Weird. Our '14 diesel with bi-xenon doesn't have them. And I can't find them as a replacement option on Suncoast, parts, either... for ANY 2011-2014 series, turbo on down.

I'd like to eventually retrofit them if they're available. Anyone know a part number?

Side question, are you able to just light up the 4 LED and not the ring around them? The one I saw yesterday was just the 4 dots (with no light on the ring / circle) and the led strip beneath.

The 4-LED light originally distinguished the Turbo from the lesser models starting in 2011. It was standard on the turbo as were adaptive headlights.

Then when the GTS came out (2013?) as usual - Porsche made it a turbo without the turbos (all the trim, none of the GO..) and the GTS got them.

Somewhere along the line I think they also slipped them onto the /S.

And of course Macan turbos have them too, so now I have no clue what I'm looking at when I see the four-dots coming down the road at me.

no problem!

My lights move as well; up and down, around bends a bit at speed and light up the front corner at slow speeds. I don't have the automatic high beams though.

You know, i've never noticed that ring around it before but only ever seen the refection in the back of the car in front of me. For some reason I want to say its only the 4 little dots. I'll get another photo shortly.

i've only had my car 3 weeks so still learning!
