I agree with you completely Touareg as far as Vagcom (Ross-tech) goes. I have Durametric and Vagcom (3 other Audi's in the family). The Durametric is maybe to the point that Vagcom was over 10 years ago. Sometimes I will just use my Vagcom on the Cayenne as it is quicker and easier, but only on modules that I already know are common with the Touareg. I should just do a complete "Touareg" module scan with the Vagcom and see what Vagcom finds ('06 CTTS). I have the enthusiast version of the Durametric which has its own limits, where I can't program a module with Durametric I can usually do it with Vagcom, and more.

Good news is that vagcom can read a lot modules on the 2011+ Cayenne
Transmission, HVAC, Airbag and so on... Not all data but its more powerfull then just generic OBD2

As for coding with Vagcom I might give it a try once I get new battery to see if I can code it in.

And yes I do own the durametric but usage is limited very limited at this time.

Try page 126.

Pretty sure it is under settings, comfort.

Then it is unlock driver, unlock driver side, unlock all I think are the options.
Thanks - that worked fine...I don't know how I missed it before!

SO...since I wanted the silent cabin (seat belt chime off, no chime when key in and door open like Euro/Great Britain), I changed 31204 to 29104 (Like sup44 in earlier post).

Then I changed the units on the dash system display back to US units (miles, F, lbs, 12 hr, gallons, etc).

Beautiful silence, and red seat belt light does not display.
Finally got tired of the chimes on the '10 GTS, hooked up and they were the same settings as your '09 and made the same changes. The silence will be nice.

Awesome! Beware if you take it in to a dealer…my local dealer loves to reset things and I have to specifically request that no one touch my European settings. I have the service advisor handwrite the message on whatever the work order is.

Default Vag-Com on a 957

I finally spent the time, after fixing some other issues, and did a full scan, using the suggested modules in the ini file with vag-com 17 and a newer cable I bough late last year, and it works great! Would love to do an A to Z scan of all numbers, not sure if possible, but it found quite a few modules. Since it pulled out DTC codes that not even my Porsche specific durametric tool pulls, I decided to be brave and reset DTC and do an adaptation.

So with the vag-com I went and cleared all the DTCs, no problems.

I find it interesting that module 6C was found? I don't have a back up camera and have PCM 3.0, hmm, need to check if there are any adaptations in there.

The big one was at address 9, central electric, Durametric could never do anything with this for me, so now I am able to code and adapt this module.

What is this? 3 to 5 soft touch flashing?

Call me crazy, let's test and save:

And the results:

It works! Been wanting this for like 6 years now since I had done it on my Touareg

So the central electric supports long coding, something on the newer cars from the last 10 or so years I am not familiar with. Others have been able to code auto headlight feature with a switch, I on my 957 have not.

I Need to take a look at the 7Lx-937-049-V2.clb label file, as my interest with the vag-com has been re-peaked. (Edit, this file has been encrypted for prevention of theft of effort)

Since our cars have a mix of porsche and VAG components, not everything will probably ever be supported, but I like this so far.

I am now ready to turn on some other options (flashing emergency brakes anyone?):

I think I got it now this is from ross-tech on the same module in the Touareg T2 and newer I guess, looking at my coding from above, things seem to match up on my Cayenne, but no promises here:

I think I can enable auto lights on the 957s now with vag-com!

I am happy to report, I was able to change the coding, and allow the bits that look to switch on the comfort light and auto headlight switch enablement on.

What this means, is my auto switch I need to repurchase should work, and my delay option is now in the MFI:

I am not done digging yet, after this plan to look into getting the flashing brake lights.

Don;t really want flat spots on my tires though to test:

Sorry if you covered this, but what did you do to the Vag-com/VCDS/Ross-Tech cable to get this to work? I have one (not a knock off) and tried hooking it up, but it was not happy. Would love to make use of my cable and s/w if possible. Thanks.

I had a cable from 2004 or so, and that was too old to work, I upgraded to the latest cable last year, and that does multiple bus architectures.

Depends on how old your cable is, I think if it is more than 10 years, like my old one you needed a newer cable.

If you have the older cayenne, you can just use the durametric.

Even though I no longer have any VW audi stuff, decided I wanted a newer cable to mess with the 957 cayenne.

Just bought a used switch for $15 shipped on ebay, happy about that. Should have it friday.

7L5.941.531C search that part, more cheaper listing than the 955 part number.
