Looks like he/she hit something...front bumper shocks are collapsed and you'll need to pull the front bumper cover off to get in there. Could be hiding something more and you will need a light surround, bumper shocks, etc. I'd pm drooman on that early car..post 2203 above...a rare shark and a 5spd. Dennis,
Is that red car a manual? Keep us informed on the details. I'm looking for my first 928.
Andy
Hi Andy - no this is an auto, and a very nice one. For routine driving, I personally prefer the S4 with an auto and the earlier cars with a manual (although my son has an 85 auto and its very fun with the Porken chip), but thats just me. The 89 S4 just popped up on BaT this morning - check it out if you would like to see more details. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1989-porsche-928-s4-6/

As a 928 noob can someone tell me why the Conti Orange is so special besides have extremely low numbers? Looks like that car would need a lot of work to make it right...body work on hood, paint, new Pasha interior and try to find the "hard to find" parts. For that kind of effort and money I could get a later car with more HP etc. Can anyone tell me more about the driving experience of an early car vs a later car or the stick vs the auto? I'm mostly drawn by the looks, the rarity of the car in general and the engineering prowess of a clean sheet of paper design by Porsche. Thanks guys....by the way I belong to a lot of car forums and this corner of Rennlist seems really nice and helpful so keep up the good work! (worst one ever is the Viper forums...stay away!)

Are you selling off your entire fleet?!?!? How many of them do you have?
Early '79, non sunroof, rough, no title.
Car has the renegade small block chevy conversion.
I bought the car for parts, but I would rather offer it here first to someone wanting a complete car to have as a project track car, or complete parts car.
Body is solid as far as I can tell, I crawled underneath it, and it is cleaner than my '85 DD car.
350 chevy engine, starts, runs, I drove it in the neighborhood.
The glass is bronze tint, tail lights, head lights, fog and driving lights are all very good condition.
Front spoiler and grill are almost perfect.
Body paint is aged, all panels are in good condition aside from a few surface rust areas.
The interior leaves a lot to be desired, there are a few good parts.
Like I said, no title, complete for track project or parts.
$2,200. Buyer responsible for shipping.
Limited time, then I will part it out.
Happy to help with any questions.
located Terre Haute, IN.
47803.
Farris.
already getting tired of passers by asking about the 924, . no local market, so this car will be dismantled soon.
this car has potential, but not for me.
$1,800 for a couple days.

I emailed with the seller, Engine smokes and he doesn't know if it has been painted...so lots of room for negotiation i think. Out of curiosity I'm waiting for the VIN to come back from rob in the VIN thread.
IMO this was a really beautiful car once; the silver/black S without side moldings, even the manhole covers work with the whole look. Every time I see a spoiler car without side moldings I wonder what nitwit committee conceived, designed, and executed those gawdawful scars down the sides that plagued the majority of production.

No, chasing classic 928s is what I like to do. I do have a few, and a I keep a couple (listed below), otherwise I like to share the joy with worthy enthusiasts.
Looks like the trailing edge of the drivers side front wheel arch has been pushed outwards.

I know it's O/T for this thread, but you should come to Pitt for the PVGP this summer and bring the #16 car
