It's even better when you find the wide wheels on the front with the narrower tires.

Hi - sorry of this is the wrong place, i'm new to the forum. I'm going to have a look at this car later (link below) now, it's obviously not an 81, but registered as such - so a bit confusing. What questions do you think i should be asking?

Hankering for a 928. Dad had one when I was a new driver. Looking at the red one linderpat scoped out and also this auction at Bring A Trailer. Goal is to have a sweet driver that is reliable - would love a manual and trying to stay around 10k purchase price. Red one looks like it needs an interior for sure. Auction one needs seats for sure as well.

High highly regard the opinions here. Thanks in advance for any incite.

Dennis' '83 manual may fetch more than $12k tomorrow, but worth it if you can splurge. His cars are well taken care of before he sells them. The red one would be nice at $8500-9k.

good luck with your search-Hoi

Welcome AJ AJ. Since this is a thread to list cars for sale you'll likely get more feedback if you post your link in the main 928 forum.

At first glance, the car is likely a 1981 that has had the bumper covers, lights and wing from the later S4 model installed. The covers don't fit quite right and the AT shifter is the early style. Another giveaway is the antenna mounted in the LR fender. S4 and later cars either had the antenna in the windscreen or had a top mounted "bee stinger" style antenna.

Agreed with Hlee 100%. In fact I have a car from Dennis (the BaT seller), and I saw the red car, and am where Hoi is on it. Pay up a bit more, spend a bit less on initial catch up maintanence and you are ahead of the game.

K&N filter not properly seated allowing unfiltered air into the MAS.
