Bill I used the RS mount and spacers elsewhere as well. My challenge is the stock driver receptacle is so rigid I can't get it in the PP slot, and the rear is too short to make it in.

I used both rears, one on each for the passenger and driver tunnel side. I stripped off the plastic sheath so it's just the bare strap w/ the stock ends.
On the SPG XL the side hole is large enough to accommodate both the 3 point an the 6 point harness. I assume that the PP is as large and shaped similarly. SPG XL has some velcro straps as part of the original seat, I use one of these to hold the receptacle up in place. W/o it there s a tendency for it to fall down to low for convenient use.
Here is an old pic of the passenger side before I started to use the velcro, you can see the straps splayed away from the side hole, I now run then behind and under the receptacle.
It appears that the PP and SPG XL have holes that are different or is it possible to get the seat any lower?
Here is the only pic I could find from when I was going though the process. These are an early attempt w/ BK sidemounts which were discarded, the relation ship between where the holes in the seat are and the rear strap are pretty much the same though, as the seat is mounted as low as it can be physically placed the limiting facot for the seat was the clearance between the seat bulb and the sidemount flange

Bill raised a good point inadvertently. I don't think the PP side holds could fit both a standard receptacle and the 6 point belt. I think what I will try is the rear belt receptacle, and see how hard it is to slide the 3 pt buckle through the PP hole to the outside where the rear receptacle would be.

writing from Italy: it is already few months I am searching for informations about this topic, i.e. Recaro PP DIY mount.
This post has been really useful to me concerning the RS side mount and 3mm spacers, but I still have to fix the problem of which part is needed and the mounting of the belt receptacle, although now I think I know my next attempt will be to use the receptacles of the rear seats and possibly widen the mounting hole, because the RS mount has larger hole.
The issue encounted by JPS is because there are 2 versions of PP seats: one is the FIA approved with no widedning/space on the internal side where to place the receptacle and this is because they are supposed to be used only for racing purposes.
Then there is the ABE/TUEV version which has the same widening/space for receptacles as SPG XL has, so that it is possible to make the receptacle pass through the side seat belt hole.

If I use the rear seat belt receptacles, what can I do about the seatbelt warning light on the dash?
Alternatively, can the 997 receptical mentioned in a post above be used with my 993 seatbelts? A later post suggests that the two are not compatible.

As the pictures above show the 997 belts can be made to work and provide a really elegant solution. They work best with the Pole Positions designed with the bulges in the seat side for the receiver as above. The modification required is to the belt tongue, this needs to be changed to the later, narrower type used by Porsche. The belts need to be removed and handed over to a belt specialist (many exist dealing with mini buses etc) who will unstitch the old thread and restitch with the new tongue in place. Using the same strength thread designed for the job does not compromise their safety in the least.
The seat belt light however does not work. The 993 system is simpler than the 997, it will need a little for fiddling if you want the light.

How many bolts are you guys using to bolt the sliders to the car?
I bought a set of Pole Positions and I can line up 4 bolts per seat. 2 bolts per slider.
The stock 993 seats have 3 bolts per slider. Each 993 slider had 1 bolt in front and 2 bolts in back.
I'm going to use the seats primarily for street driving. Should I bother drilling out the sliders?
Allowing 4 bolts per slider. 8 bolts total per seat. Thanks for any help
