Default the 'list'

Hello. Just logged into this forum today. I have been more an active member over on Planet-9 since I've owned 4 Caymans since 2006 (along with a 991S thrown in the mix). I was advised to come over here from zedcat as I was asking a lot of questions about how to get on the 'allocation list' for a 991.2 GT3 MT. He suggested I spend some time over here as I was likely to meet members with a lot more experience buying the GT cars. Anyway, I did call the dealer where I bought my PTS 2016 Cayman GTS, and he was happy to take a deposit from me, but he told me I was 15th in line and he knew he was probably only going to get a handful of GT3 allocations, and he didn't know how many would be manuals. Do people generally spread deposits across a bunch of dealers? I realize that could get expensive quickly. Do people dealer-shop across the country?

And while I am probably coming too late to the party to get an allocation, if I did, will PTS be available?

thanks!

People shop at dealers all over the country but it is becoming more and more difficult now with increased demand of GT cars and market adjustment prices. 15th in line is possible to get one if they follow the list and your dealer is a large volume dealer.
PTS is most likely not going to happen as its usually a very small time window.

I like this much better than the sedan. And Audi won't sell me an RS6 avant.

This thing looks like something lexus made, not feeling at all.
The RS6 is a beauty compared to this render, they better shape up if there will be a wagon Panamera!

Welcome!! I consider P-9 my Porsche home-forum.

Can't really help with the question. Just thought I'd say hi.

just got my allocation call

configuration in the next few days

bad news: it will be a short run only with very few allocations and no extended run.

at least that's what I was told

before I was under the impression they will produce as many as possible to satisfy demand, it now looks like that is not the case

I can only speculate that a GT touring, the GT2 coming or other special models are in the pipeline so production capacity for GT cars is limited

congratulations to everybody who got a call!
