Guys...take my advice...the next time your SA or GM starts trying to tell you that there will only be a limited run of GT3s...tell them to SHUSH and remind them that .1GT3s were readily available at MSRP.

There's a lot of real estate between current production and 12,000 units. All they need to do is produce enough to satisfy the demand. Pretty easy to do given the way Porsche spaces production and builds largely to order. Porsche could easily crank out a few more cars more quickly to make everyone happy, make more cash for themselves, still keep the desirability up and keep dealers happy. Which do you think does more for brand marketing, seeing another GT3 or RS on the road or another 2 liter base Macan in rent car white with 18 inch wheels that looked like they were swiped off a Q5?

And you think dealers would be unhappy? The GM and the SA's at my dealership would kill for more GT cars. They could sell every one of them and make money. They're making jack **** on each Macan they sell.

Invoice is what for most dealers for most Porsches? 10% below MSRP on average? Ok, so they can make $4k-$5k for a Macan or they can make $15k+ for a GT3. Granted, they'll sell 3-5x more Macans than GT3s.

Go ask your salesman what they're making on the typical Macan. It's nowhere near the same percentage on a GT3. My SA tells me that most of the Macan's they're selling are base models and they're having to sell them at a discount because buyers are cross shopping them against similarly sized small Japanese SUVs.

I gather the annual capacity for sports car production at Zuffenhausen is circa 50k - that is ALL 911 versions, Boxsters and Caymans. Or are some Caymans produced at Osnabruck?

Really what percentage should be GT/RS cars? And historically I suspect it was an even smaller percentage.

I think the average US dealer probably sells 3-5x Macans for every 911...and 3-5x 911s for every GT car.

991gt3 has somewhat taken over the role of the turbo. Expensive loaded cars with high msrp. Still holding up good as used cars but I expect that to change.

Just from a sales/revenue perspective, how is this a bad thing (unless the Macan is canabilizing Cayenne sales).

Macan's have tapped into a new market. They are the #1 selling Porsche model. Hard to argue against selling them. How else do all these newly remodeled Porsche dealers expect to pay them off?? Better to sell a Macan for a sales guy than surf Rennlist all day.

This is what PAG wants. The sports cars are becoming a hobby in order to sell the rest. Rolled into the local P dealer a few days ago. You'd swear they only sold SUV's and crossovers.

That's what I was thinking. Let's do hope that Porsche's product line doesn't look like BMW in 5-10 yrs.

So it's a Panamera with a Macan *** on it?

Is that the new Honda Accord wagon? Swanky.

Well, would you rather manufacture, ship, floor, market and sell one car that makes $X of profit or have to manufacture, ship, floor, market and sell 3-4 vehicles to get the same $X of profit? I'm not saying the Macan is a bad idea. I'm simply saying that not producing enough GT3s to satisfy demand is bad business. It's leaving money on the table and, as a shareholder, Porsche should be doing nothing more than maximizing profits for me.

Saw this on Instagram just now! Looks like some subtle nips and tucks...engine size badge blacked out. I tried increasing exposure and doesn't look like it has the R diffuser

Nice find!!!

New door handles as well as the tail lights of course. The first pic I've seen.
