Not today, but after I get this cooler mounted we'll assess. Thank you.

I'd say you should check out VEMS standalone and talk to Raceboy.. iirc they may even have plug and play for the 944..

They have an onboard MAP and O2 controler so all you need is a vacuum line and a WB O2 sensor but don't need a controler.. That saves you a lot of money, very proven on Porsches too..

Or microsquirt/megasquirt..

The only reason I am using microsquirt instead of VEMS is that I'm not going EFI standalone, but rather standalone control of the most modern CIS designed to be controled by electronics..
If I were Going with EFI injectors I would go VEMS hands down...

Cool. I'm going for the distributor-less SDS EFI system: "4F"

http://sdsefi.com/specific.html

I called him up and asked "so your website says you can program the your ecm without a laptop?" He said "yes. no laptop required... even at the highest level".

SOLD! (errr... not really because I am saving my money to buy one).

vems will do that too at the same time, fully sequential..

A vems box will do it all.. Fuel, ignition, onboard map and WB controler, boost control, egt, all one box..

Like $500-$800 iirc..

You're going to have to adapt that to the 944 engine the same as any standalone (except PnP options). It won't magically work with stock crank triggering and it needs to be setup with a base tune just like any ECU. Not to be a raincloud but you're best off using a laptop to do the initial setup and map construction, then fine tuning later with or without it. It's definitely the easiest way.

Also quick question (sorry for going OT). With that special thicker HG, could one run a 16v head and use 951 pistons, unmodified? Just out of curiosity.

That's a very good Q Michael... it has to be close! I'd measure the valve reliefs & compare... then add "stretch" but, it would probably work!

29 year old rad. Had parts of bird(s) in it. Gross.

The proper way to clean a rad is from the back forward, so that's what I did.

Painted it black.

Got the other side "roughed in". Had to make another hole in the body in front of fender/behind headlamp (as seen below with troublelight), followed by picture of the routing bellow the "hole". Turbo compressor outlet to cooler angle is off (since I never intended on routing it this way).

Headlamps will be adjustable 4x6" rectangular lights in homemade sheet aluminum buckets. There is another thread I think it's called "modifications to Wilson" I shall be picking up where that left off within a couple of days & it'll address the details.

Stay tuned for venting details here.
