After a week of driving (in the rain here in CA) quite happy with my stock find. Drives like a rocket. No S or GTS envy here Glad I got the Sport Chrono and the Sport Exhaust.
Love the red interior. I wasn't sure about it as no dealer had one to look at in the area when I placed my order. I have since seen it in person and it is super nice.
Yes the red and carbon go very well together. I would not have thought of the combo myself and probably would have not paid the carbon finish premium either but it was there. The "red" is really a fairly dark bordeaux color that I find quite classy and not over the top.
Nice. Love that --I get the Blue Ridge Parkway a bit further south with similar views.
Yes, I've been all the way down through there. I do that trip once a summer going down to Charleston. It's not fast drive, but one with fantastic views. Last summer I saw a bear along the road.
Sold my base 2012 991 Carrera 18 months ago and do sort of miss it!
If I had kept it, the stock non-PASM ride height had always bugged me and I was going to install an Airrex or similar air suspension. Would have been very cool to be able to select stock (raised look to clear obstructions), PASM (-10mm), SPASM (-20mm), aftermarket (-30mm) and slammed on the ground while parked (if you're into that sort of thing). Gives up front trunk space and isn't cheap but would have kept me interested in the car.
got the 2013 base because i was convinced it was enough power for my daily commute. was disappointed so traded back for the carerra S and was extremely happy. did the early lese pull ahead and got another base again. this time i am truly convinced it's more than i need. hopefully i won't be disappointed again.
Went to the dealer for a side marker switch. Whoever decided to have orange one should be fired
It was some dude in the government! US regulations require orange-colored reflectors on the side of vehicles. As far as I know no automaker invented white-in-daylight-orange-at-night optics yet
