Very easy.... driving the front up on ramps will help and 6 screws total underneath on the stock one to first remove the small chin airblocker underneath the front splitter... and the key to removing the actual splitter is sliding it out (towards the driver side) in order to release it from the bumper. Then the new S version splitter actually just clips/tabs into the same factory mounting holes underneath the front bumper... no screws needed. It's so easy to install the new one. Note that the standard Carrera splitter is actually two pieces while the Carrera S version is one whole piece.
Here is an example of standard vs. sport front splitters.... I took these photos at a dealership in order to visualize the difference:
When I started my order, that was my intent. I wanted a pure drivers car with nothing added in. But then thought I might need an upgrade on the seats. And if I didn't order sport chrono, I might regret it. And my mechanic told me that the PSE was a must, as well as LED headlamps. Heated seats are definitely neeedd in the NE. Well, then I might as well get the Sport Package Plus. I might like a stereo upgrade, too. Almost 20K later, my very base sports car was not so base. Now that was nuts.
It will be difficult to resist adding stuff.
Shortly I am ordering mine, and with the configuration I have already come to over EUR 31K of options. I'm the joy of my wife...
Anyone have 991.2 experience with 19" vs. 20" wheels on not-so-smooth roads? Does the former provide a more compliant ride?
The 991.2 19's will have a more softer feeling ride due to the tire dimension differences... the 20's will be a little more firm/sportier but IMO not uncomfortable at all. I have the Carrera S wheels/tires optioned on mine and I think it's perfectly fine for urban/rural roads. I leave the PASM setting on normal mode when cruising and dial it up to Sport mode when needed.

I opted for the 19's. They ride better and handling is fine. I had large rims on my BMW and hated the jarring ride, but people seem to indicate that the 20's aren't too stiff. My BMW tires were run-flats, too, and that makes a difference.
I test drove several cars with 20" wheels and with the now standard PASM found the ride fine. In fact I found the SPASM compliant enough as well. And I can say that even NY doesn't have streets as broken up as the ones I drive on. I had a 2015 C2 Coupe for a weekend test drive also with 20's - it was too harsh. 991.2, world of difference.

Basically since the air-cooled Carrera days, I always liked this look especially on a guards red car. So here's my simple tribute/iteration:
Nice look ..I had some custom made to mimic the sharp lower leading point and the tapering slenderized swept-back-as-it-rises " shark fin " profile of the 70s/80s stone guards as in your first pic above :
