Default Which exhaust is this?

Finally had a chance to get some pics of my exhaust as I had it up on the hoist doing an oil change. It sounds magnificent and LOUD. Had a 993 guy at the light ask me what exhaust I had because he loved the sound. I have no idea what kind it is as it was on it when I bought it. It's not PSE as it's not in my option codes. Any one have any ideas?

Appears to be a standard exhaust system but it might have either the gundo or fisters mod.

Thanks for the info. Is there any way to definitively tell if it has that mod? It has something done to it that's for sure!

Take a closer photo of the muffler in the area around the inbound and outbound piping.

If you see a smaller-diameter pipe welded in between the in and out piping on the muffler, you've got a Fister mod.
If you do not, check the muffler to see if it looks like it's been gutted (opened up, cleaned out, and welded shut).
If you do not, might be time to look for exhaust leak(s).

Ok i will have to check the next time it's on the hoist. Re checked my pics and I can't see much when i zoom in. Planning on doing the motor mounts so I will check again when it's up on the hoist. Pretty sure it's not an exhaust leak is it sound great, rather than noisy loud and ****ty :-)

Looks 100% stock.... to me

Those are stock Headers and a stock mid pipe... mufflers are stock too, but may be modified

And I am not being rude, but cant' see how that restrictive system is "LOUD"

I'm thinking it's gutted maybe? Believe me, I have heard other 996s drive by and they sound absolutely silent in comparison. Everyone comments on how awesome the exhaust sounds, which is why I am confused as to what is under there. 3 people have asked me what system I'm running, to which I have no answer.

I'm about 98% sure it's not a leak, I'm going with gutted...

I will try for better pics when I do the mounts. Thanks for everyone's input!

Very very helpful. Thanks! I will do a better check the next time I'm under there. In the meantime I will try and get a sound clip up.

As always you guys are awesome.

I have gutted my Cat's before on previous vehicles which would yield quite a bit of noise... However you would probably figure out if they are or not by your emissions test or possibly getting a CEL down the road.

Either way, pretty cool you have a nice sounding exhaust out of a visually stock system
