Tiptronic Transmission oil question

Tiptronic Transmission oil question
Hi guys, new to the forum. Looking for a bit of advise regarding tiptronic Transmission oil. I'm planning on changing the filter, gasket and oil pan. I asked Porsche for oil but they could only supply 20litre drums. I believe I only need 4.5 (say 5 litres) for my 2003 Carrera 4S. Ive ordered 5 litres of Mobil ATF LT71141 but I'm having second thoughts if this is a suitable oil. Does anyone know if this oil is suitable?
thanks,
lewis

Try calling Suncoast Porsche Parts, they have it in liter bottles and they ship very fast.

ATF 3353. Pelican Parts carries Fuchs Titan @ $11 per liter. You need a special fitting for the service valve and a means to pump it in. There's a good DIY on the Pelican web site. Make sure you look at the directions for the '02 & later variety - different animal than earlier car.

The procedure is described here
http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...sion_Fluid.htm
Your car has the Benz transmission, the 722.6
For ATF you are safe when using the Mercedes approved fluids.
The Mercedes OEM ATF are in fact Fuchs ATF relabeled with a Benz Star.
The pelican article refers to the Fuchs Titan 3353. You should also be fine with the newer Benz approved ATF. In this case this is the Fuchs Titan 4134.
I had recently some problem with slow shifting and what seems as excessive slipping of the torque converter clutch. When I flushed the ATF it got replaced with Titan 3353. Because of the previous problem I will will bring the car in for transmission check up, a torque converter rebuild and replacing/modifying the valve body. The company who does the rebuild uses the 4134 or even the newer Benz ATF. Still need to discuss this with them.
If you see the old ATF is very dark and smells a bit awkward a good way to go is to replacing the 4,5 liters, drive around a couple of hundred miles and then do a second oil change. Maybe repeat this a third time if you think it is necessary. By doing so you can refresh most of the oil which stays normally in the tranmission (ATF cooler circuit and torque converter hold around another 4-5 liters) without having to do a flush.
