Gotta say, stunning looking car. Always had a soft spot for these and S2000's but not so interested in convertibles. This is about as close as I'd get to owning one and the roof would come down maybe 5% of the time it was one the road.
Anybody in the market for a Polar Silver 96 with 57k and sorted in every which way including all new A/C?
Just gotta comb the internet and find some dodgy reviews and avoid doing anything I'll regret in six months time.
Nice looking car. It may be just me, but kind of reminds me of an Opel GT, especially the first two pics.
Happy New Year to all of you and your families and wish you all good health.
Oh I thought it was about 50 pounds for the top; yeah, that's a shame.
Still, I think the car comes in at under 2,500 lbs. Gotta love that
The numbers I've seen estimate 130-150 lbs and it sits fairly high up. The ND as it is, causes many to be suspicious of fairy low powered engine by today's standards. Adding about 7-8% extra weight is not good.
The other, more wistful, point is that Miata was made as one of the last light and simple cars, going back to 60s roadster roots. This (added complexity and weight, as is NC removable hard top) is not the right direction.
The Mazda hard top looks much better than the new convertible. They should have done that a long time ago - better yet, a proper coupe. Everyone is commenting on all the weight up top. I would guess the 993 coupe adds weight up top compared to the cab, doesn't it?

You would guess incorrectly. Targa does. Coupe doesn't.
