Anyone know where this bolt goes? Pics included.

Agreed, but #28 in the first digram shows that the bolt is not fully threaded, unlike #26. But PET diagrams are notorious for not showing correct images. Would like to get to the bottom of this to keep another 968 on the road

To put this to rest, I decided to take my belt covers off. Pictures will clear the questions.
1st off, the open section in the 2nd picture does not take a bolt in the rounded section, but further away. The rear cover bolt is also visible in this picture.
Another picture of the long bolt in question.
I went ahead and removed the bolt holding the rear belt cover. Looks familiar.
Went ahead and measured it. Approx 48-50mm depending if we also measure the washer.
Now a picture of #26 and its length per PET (M6 x 42). If we add the 2mm for the washer, we are the same length as what shows in the PET. As I stated earlier, the metal brace around the BS does not have a fully threaded bolt which can be seen through the picture.

Great detective work guys! I won't be able to look at the car till later, but I will be sure to give you all the answer to the mystery.
I am working with the shop to see if they make this good somehow and will let you all know.
I am in Vegas this coming week, flying out tomorrow, anyone from the list from there?

Shop just called me, I know without the measurements, it was hard to guess, but they say it was the cam cover lower bolts, hidden on the top belt cover. There was a replacement bolt there.

I did talk to the original shop, and mentioned might it be the rear belt cover and he said it might be the bottom bolt of the cam cover, hidden by the belt covers. I took it over to anther shop to get things with a second set of eyes, called them today and they mentioned the cam cover bottom of the 2 bolts is not stock
This tells me nothing other than to be suspicious of the bolt falling, it can't be found and replacing it with a similar bolt.
What is special about the washers Raj? Is it so they won't react with the magnesium?

But then they use a regular washer for the bolt that sits outside up top. Makes no sense.

Car is back together, cams are rebuilt. New varicom actuator and feels stronger (and quieter) than ever. Love the renbay cam gear cover too. Really freshens up my beat up motor.
Thanks all!
