Power steering?
Bought new hoses for reservoir. I have an EXCELLENCE article from issue 161 on how to change cooling line. While it's off I figured I would remove pump, replace seals and clean. And while I'm at it look for coolant leak.
Do you know if I have to remove front bumper to get pump out?
Any advice or tips?

It's pretty straightforward. You have to remove the fender liner, but not the whole bumper. The hardest part for me was getting my big paws up there alongside the belts to undo the bolts. There's a nice write-up on Clarks garage. I did not remove the reservoir when i replaced my pump (and rebuilt the original to have a spare).

Can someone tell me what the orientation of the hoses to the reservoir is?
Right now I have the cooling return line towards the front of the car and the hose to the pump towards the rear when hooked up to reservoir but I'm not sure if that's right. I want to make sure before I put it all back together tomorrow.
Do I need to rotate the reservoir And have the pump hose towards the front?

you're flipped. the return from the cooler faces the firewall. the pump feed is on the coil side/front.
be sure the lip on the tank is in the lower recess of the bracket. the tank has a non-serviceable filter and should be replaced.
dex IIdD is still made by febi. your local Mercedes dealer will have it or amazon.
