Default Interior material?

I recently picked up a 1998 C2s and the interior material is not one I've seen before. It didn't really show in the pictures so I was a bit surprised when I received the car, not that it's bad, just unexpected. I was under the assumption that it was almost always vinyl, or perhaps leather, but wasn't sure what mine is. I'm talking about the area behind the window switches.

Anyone know and was it standard for '98 and was there an associated option code?

Thanks.

If my memory serves correct, it was a common but unique vinyl trim available on the Carrera S.

I think it's vinyl too. I have it on my '98 C2S as well.

Vinyl is standard, the C2S was quite a low spec car really from factory, gearshift & handbrake worse than standard as an example

It's one of those cool details I found when my car arrived as well. I equate it with "sanded" leather where the bumps are knocked down - very much like a Nubuck sofa I have. It does stand out from the regular molded vinyl pieces...

Nubuck is top-grain cattle leather that has been sanded or buffed on the grain side, or outside, to give a slight nap of short protein fibers, producing a velvet-like surface. It is resistant to wear, and may be white or coloured.

Looks like you car is quite heavily optioned then, the door cards may well be leather as they were a special option on the Carrera S in black leather only 99355503120A04

You also have the hi-fi upgrade by the look of it

I haven't seen a C2S that didn't have the black pebble grain material on the doors and the dash-regardless of the rest of the interior color.
