^Turbo with RS front fenders? Didn't think they'd make those available.

All the other cars are gorgeous.

Yes,it was the new 991.2 Turbo. I'll look to see if I have some pics from the back, but I remember it had a bunch of stickers from a tuner I believe. So the fenders were probably added by them to make it look more aggressive. I doubt it's a factory option.

Thanks bud, I found the sample cards locally so i can actually compare to the paint samples in the store. I'm finding the names of the wheel options confusing, can you clarify which wheels are the more silver ones (like the black car with silver stripes). Do you know off hand if the light orange stripes come in a matte color? Lock date in 8 days!

bartron, the default wheels (aluminum) are the lightest silver. (Beyond this, there is a darker platinum finish which for reference was also available on the 991.1 GT3 as its default, and there are also the gloss black wheels.) AFAIK, there is no orange colour available in matte from the regular palette of 3M 100 series colours. Counting down to awesomeness!!

I like the sleeper style of the R and would skip the stripes. They just don't fit the car in my mind.

Not mine, it's a guy in UK who had it done to match his Voodoo RS. (Also in the pic)

I would imagine mine will look pretty much the same, but will confirm in 10 days time!

That red hood is interesting.. is there a historical precedent for it?

The orange hood evokes the famous 1967 911R that won the 1970 Tour de France. But I don't know if the orange hood was a reference to anything (for instance a sponsor (BP), or country (Switzerland), like the green and red stripes on the R) in that car. That one was car #3 and is part of the Ingram Collection. I'm not sure if it was painted like that originally (I suspect it was all white from the factory), but it already had its orange hood by 1970 when it competed in and won the Tour de France race. It was also previously on display at Quail (see Eduardo's post below).

Chassis #3 was again on display at Road Scholars when the new 911R bearing the similar orange hood was recently shown. The Instagram account (where I saw the photos) comments that this 991 911R had its hood painted orange by the factory. Clearly it also had a bunch of other CXX custom work on the inside too including the seats, and perhaps some leather. (I believe the brown leather lining the top of the door by the window sill on this car is CXX; usually this is black, as shown on the configurator.)

Here are the photos I posted earlier for comparison.

So indeed the car in display is #003, currently in the Ingram
