Default WTB heater delete block off plate for back of head

Does anyone have a water block off plate that goes on the back of the cylinder head when you delete the heater core? I know you can just cap the factory elbow thingy but I lost that, and I'd rather have the lower profile block off plate vs a capped factory outlet.

I'm talking about this type of plate

that replaces the factory neck

Not interested in paying 28 dollars + shipping for a little piece of aluminum that took someone 5 minutes to draft and another 5 minutes to CNC.

Idea...I used to have a race 951 engine that had such a block off plate.
Someone just cut off the "neck" and welded the hole shut...

The head off that engine (and that plate) ended up at Lart's...I bet he still has it.

*tip* go to the 928 guys and ask for their driver side coolant block off plate, pn# 928 104 214 00

Spencer I had the same idea, cut the water neck as close as flush to the head as possible and then fill with weld. I can't find the water neck though, I only had one in my inventory from my 951 head. No clue where it could have gone.

I did make a post on the 928 board, hopefully someone has one laying around.

Doug, you probably thought of this, but you can use the elbow piece or it's gasket as a template to build your own out of aluminum or sheet metal and then silicone it and mount with 2 bolts.. I did that with the 924.

That's what I'm going to do if I can't find one. Normally I'd just draw it up in Solidworks and cut it on the 5 axis CNC mill I have access to at school. We're in the middle of opening up a brand new engineering building though and machinery is being moved around so right now my access to the machine shop is cut off

A piece of flat stock from home depot with a few holes drilled in it will do the trick

As mentioned, this piece would be a cinch to make. And if you really aren't in the mood for fabbing it up, $28.00+ shipping is nothing in this hobby.

Eh. Yeah I know it would have been super easy for me to fab, but for 10 bucks it saved me from having to drill or cut anything. I'm super busy and at this point my time to fab is worth more than 10 bucks (just not quite 35 bucks )

Hey...nothing wrong with that. Probably take me at least an hour to make one - so $10 is about an even trade-off.
