By 'Lime' I would think he is referring to 'Gelbgrün', color code 137!

'Viola Metallic' appears to have been first offered by Porsche
as a 'special color' in MY1999. In person, it looks darker than
the Autogespot photos above (which might have been digitally
enhanced).

And I think one of our Rennlisters in this forum owns a
.2 997 gt3 RS in that color (PTS):

It is currently available as PTS:

Another contender for the 'purple cake' is the historic
'Royal Purple' ('Flieder' or 'Lilac' in German). It was
an early 911 color, Solid/Uni:

I thought that the first car in Viola Metallic was the 964 Anniversary, in 1993. It was a ROW only edition.

You are correct. I forgot about the Anniversary
'Jubi' edition.

But it also helps us make the point that 'Viola Metallic'
in the flesh looks much darker than the Autogespot
photos.

And you can also count on members world-wide
that chime in to help keep everyone informed on
Porsche colors. From Rennlisters in France to those
in my 'native' Canada!

Eduardo, I was up visiting some friends over the weekend and ran into a bmw Z4 that was apparently the only "Urban Green" in Ontario. Curious if you're familiar with this shade.

I was not until you brought it up.
Now I am. It looks a bit like Porsche's
'Olive'. Very nice color. I like it.

Eduardo I just got some info from a member in our club that the car we are claiming to be Viola has been fully sprayed with Plasti Dip. He claims he has seen the car being done in Abu Dhabi. The same goes for the Yellow cage also. What do u think?

It very possible. It doesn't look like the factory 'Viola Metallic'
we have been familiar with. But I originally thought it was the
photo editing/enhancing which is often done by photographers
shooting digital photos.

Please Moe, keep us posted on whether this car's PTS color is
real...

....or Memorex!

looks like there is a violet metalizer on the plastdip site.. looks like that is the most likely story.

Will (ptsrs) seems to know the owner, and has been writing it is PTS; perhaps he'll chime in to verify what he heard. In this photo from his IG account, it looks darker fwiw. If that result could be obtained with plastidip, I would be amazed. It really does look like factory paint to my eye.

My two cents: Looks too gloss to be plastidipped.
