Haha STG of course my favorite Nashville dealership gets my pebble/agate combo at a good price after I've already bought mine .... c'est la vie.
I'm all about the GTS model but you would rather have a GTS than a Turbo/Turbo S? I guess you're a naturally aspirated purist to the core.

Yes, I'd rather have any 991 S/4S/GTS.
That being said .... The 997 Turbos with manual transmissions will do VERY well in the long run. Beautiful design (better than 991), and fairly low production #'s during the economic downturn. There are more 991.1 used GT3's out there than 997 Turbos!
They are long term keepers with lower mileage and great condition. They will appreciate nicely. Will outshine the 991 Turbos by far.

Not to stray from the 991.1 mission, but a good example of a PTS long term keeper!
Another winner is a 997.2 GTS. Those also, lower production numbers and more rare in 6 speed manuals. Add a factory Aerokit, and bingo. It's a keeper.

If wanting new or can't find the perfect preowned one .... Last of the 991.1 NA's ... May be an option for some. Not everyone obviously.
Deals to be had on 2015-2016's. Some are voluntarily discounting. I'm sure there's more room even than what's listed. Even on ones not advertising discounts, you could probably score like 15% off MSRP with some of them.
There are like over 200+ new ones out there.
A few nice ones.

This GTS appears nice. It's within a couple of miles of here, if any body wants a walkaround and sniff test. I would want to see the Carfax. ..

Ugh - wish I hadn't found this thread...
I have a Maserati GranTurismo as a weekend car, and am seriously leaning towards a Targa as a daily driver - I could really use something with 4 wheel drive. But in reality I don't need to make a change until March 2018.
Not sure I can wait that long...
At least there should be some decent deal son used targas by then...
