In my search for a 997.2 CS2 cabrio - the only thing for sure I know it MUST have is a manual transmission. Most I've run across in searches are equipped with Comfort seats- but I recently came across one with Adaptive Sport seats (plus sport exhaust, et al.) and I'm wondering why so many aren't configured this way. Are they inherently more unlivable than Comfort seats?

My only heartburn that comes from owning a car with sport seats (as I have now) are the measures I take to protect the side bolster when my lovely wife enters the passenger side (sacrificing the back of my hand (cupped around the bolster) to take the abrasion of her jeans when she nonchalantly hops in)

I don't know if I've ever seen a cabrio with adaptive sport seats.

I love my adaptive sport seats and I consider them a must have option. The normal seats feel very much like the seats in my old 964. Because they are tapered at the top there is no shoulder or upper torso support and get uncomfortable on long drives.

I regularly clean and condition my seats and I have a bottle of Leatherique conditioner that I plan to apply once the weather warms up. They still look brand new.

I have Power Comfort and like them a lot. I believe the Adaptive have the aluminum colored plastic back which is not appealing to me at all.

I do really love the Power Comforts. When I drove the car back from Philly to Raleigh it was very comfortable and no back issues whatsoever.

I think the adaptive seats are great as they really hold you in! That's the main point though isn't it? Atleast for me. I can see the side bolsters making it harder to get in and out of and thus additional wear, but you'll have to decide if it's worth it. I think for a DD, I can see the concern but mines is a weekend car.

I didn't' get into the levels of adjustment it comes with as well. I think it comes down what you'll use the car for. The adaptive and buckets more for the canyon carving or track.. where as the more basic seats for more of a DD.

And the aesthetics... .. IMHO, one of the most gorgeous seats out there.

I've got Adaptive Sport Seats in my 997 turbo cabriolet. I had comfort seats in my 996 C4S. The Adaptive Sport Seats are great... I consider them a "must have" option. That being said, they are a little tight if you have a wide frame. They aren't comfortable for everyone.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm kind of lanky, so I think they might be a great thing to have, although I've found the comfort seats very nice as they are.

yes.. size matter from what I read.. I'm slim so perhaps that's why I like them.

I had comfort seats in my Cayman, and have Adaptive Sport seats in my 997.2 cab. The sport seats are better, but the manual sport seats would probably be fine for me. I really like the additional support in the shoulder area, but don't really use the inflatable bladders controlled by the front two buttons.

My car came with comforts...I picked up a set of Adaptives and they hold me in and look way better.

Adaptive sport seats is a must have option, unless you have GT2 seats. The only way I would consider normal seats is if it was a steal of a price on an otherwise perfect car. Interior is very important for me in my cars and seats are the main measure of that.

I'm 6'6" and 260 lbs and adaptive sports for me fit better.

Adaptives are much better, especially the shoulder support. I swapped comforts for adaptives in my car. They're so comfortable, I put a set of manual adaptives into my 928 Spyder. Driving my wife's 997 for a 2 hour trip today (hers has the comforts) and it reemphasised how much better the adaptives fit me. A seat swap is actually a very easy DIY, so don't pass up a car that pushes all the right buttons other than the seats, as you can fix that aspect later.

I had the backs of the 928 ones CF vinyl wrapped to complement the rest of the interior trim. Should've done the same to the 997 ones, but they were first before I had the idea. .

I wish my car had come with the adaptive sport seats. I ended up spending a fortune upgrading them. To me, they're actually more comfortable than the "comfort" seats because I'm not sliding around while turning.
