Pesky vacuum lines- a common and frustrating issue to resolve for some of us.
So what is the best source for replacement vacuum line? Hopefully there is a more durable and flexible modern material available?
I have been using 3mm silicone tube as a repair sleeve over broken OEM line but I am realizing is a foolish short term hack. Modern flexible silicone vac line is very easy to work with but I am concerned that nobody has mentioned substituting it on our engines for the brittle, stiff OEM material. There must be a reason???
The larger diameter silicone hose is useless for high vacuum because it softens and collapses when hot. But the tiny 3mm is much stiffer. Any experiences to share/ Thanks.

I prefer the stock vacuum lines and you can get them by meters from Porsche. Check out my writeup here https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...omponents.html

Nice of you to stop by the 996 forum for help with your 997.

The pump is in the engine compartment, left side.

You will find some good troubleshooting information on P0492 here: http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...jection-codes/
