On another silly note, I believe its mentioned that it should be a specific torque, but how did they account for that with the oem tools?
I use the torque value of "pretty fu@kin& tight". Not "crazy fu@kin& tight" nor "kinda fu@kin& tight". Seems to be sufficient.

Yeh, what he said. Maybe there is a proper tool (someone tell me if there is) but the above is good enough in my experience.

Do the earlier 911 rear windows fit the 964 if we reuse the 964 window rubber?
I currently have a hole for a non existent wiper and would like to do away with it, the 3rd brake light "square" and heater lines too if possible.

just locate the RS or ROW glass.

There are a few options. without the 3rd brake light square and the wiper hole. Mine has a plug in it right now.

IF you go the plug route, this is a really nice piece

That's a nice plug, something I will go to if I don't decide on a complete window replacement solution soon.

The RS glass would certainly be a good solution. My thought about the earlier glass is that it would be MUCH more economical to buy a good used rear window from the local Porsche dismantler from an earlier car.

Advise please on new carpet kit. I have deleted the center console of my 964 Cab Triptronic and also cleaning up the rest of the tunnel to be more like in the old days. Is there a standard 911 kit I can order ? OR do I need to be special order 964 "dont cut up my carpet on tunnel" ! I was looking at Lakewells kits unless anybody has a better suggestion in Europe Thx

How loud is your coupe relative to this? How about with your soft-top up?

I know where some of the noise is coming from (the window seals aren't sitting 100%) but I'm also somewhat curious as to what the best (coupe) sound insulation is like on our cars at 85 under heavy load (merging).

Look through the windshield it is the vin plate number. I believe this is US spec cars only.

Cult-Werk makes a nice RS style rear glass. Their parts are of excellent quality and they are great to deal with.

Going to prep for rebuilding my pedal box soon. Lately the clutch has not been coming back very smooth which is mainly a problem for first gear when letting it out slow. I had shot some WD40 into that busing space where it rotates and that helped a bit.

Question is, will these 993 bronze bushings fit?
