stuck, I just dont see how its possible to safely disconnect the factory vacuum line w/o removing the back bumper and heat shielding...
final score - larry nil, factory vacuum line 1... I just dont see how its possible to
disconnect it safely w/o removing the bumper and heat shielding, so I've put
everything back to stock ...
I personally do not see how it is possible to do it safely; one end is 'hidden'
above and behind the exhaust itself, so its difficult to get your hands into
the space, I tried to pull it off the actuator end to no avail, its easier to see
the other end which attaches to the engine, but both ends are I believe
crimped on ...
I ended up restoring the car to stock ... I guess if I want this I am going to
have to take the bumper and heat shielding off ... which is a major PITA
and will add a couple of hours to the task... (Ive done this already when I
installed BMC filters)

Hmm interesting point. How often do we replace the BMC? Maybe next time = install AWE at same time? Is it every 10k miles?

I'm psyching myself up to do this ... Ive had the bumper off before when I installed the BMC's ... but it will add quite a bit of time to the install, it should
however make the task much simpler since it will offer much greater access
to the exhaust...
let the install begin: step 1 (remove the back of the car)
took the bumper off, (hardest part is disconnecting the lic plate light) then
removed the rear impact bar and heat shield, voila! an exhaust laid bare for
all to see and work on...
took me 1 hour which included cleaning the bumper prior to removal (Griots Waterless car wash and microfibre clothes) and jacking the car ...
Go Larry, go !!
Hopefully you're taking good notes (even better, a video?) on all the steps and will share with us
you do not need a 1 hour video of either my plumbers crack or the top of my balding head bobbing around - occasionally interrupted by a string of expletives!
