I had the same experience in Switzeland. I decided to order the AWE from the US with the extra cost... And while the sound is great, I was disappointed with the cheap zip ties, short vacuum lines and the most dangerous thing I lost one black exhaust tip on the highway...
I bought my exhaust from TAG Motorsports so far no real support...

my "solution" was to rotate the actuator 120 clockwise to narrow the distance
between the actuator and engine, thus enabling the line to work, AWE rightly
expressed concern that this might expose the line to additional heat from the
exhaust, so they are overnighting a new hose and clips to me to resolve the
problem (which fastdiablo also encountered previously when doing his DIY install)

So, I will remove the exhaust (again) and return the actuator to its original
position and re-attache the longer line.

FYI to any GTS owner wanting to install an AWE exhaust ensure that you have this longer line before commencing the install
Yes, thanks again for the info and write-up

Can't wait for final results and sound/vids!!! So interested for this to be my next mod

And btw, the story I got from AWE about the hose being short was that the instructions were based on a preproduction unit and the actual valve actuators were higher end units with nipples that pointed towards the front of the car. Now the story is its the car's fault because it's a GTS not a Carerra S. So now I'm driving around in 150k car with zip ties holding vacuum hoses on.

FYI the clamps are Oetiker steel "2-ear" 0.9cm (internal diameter) clamps, they can be compressed with a set of claw type wire cutters or the Oetiker
tool which you can order from Amazon ...

I'm happy to loan anyone my crimpers (by return mail) if needed.

they really make a good connection - going to re-install the longer line
later, I'll post the necessary length, *and* inform AWE also, later on!

I'm still recovering from doing my taxes ... I could have bought a couple
of Akra's ... but uncle sam seems to want them instead!

I have communicated to AWE that the driver's side hose needs to be 17-18" to fit a GTS which it seems has a different location offset to the passenger side for the engine vacuum line that operates the valves ... So they are aware of the issue since they kindly provided me with a new line and clamps by next day air!

Glad you guys are digging the tone as much as we did!

Regarding the zip ties and vacuum lines:

Non-PSE car are equipped with a plastic vacuum line with a rubber connector to the vacuum fitting on the valve. So in that instance we provide zip ties for non-PSE equipped vehicles to add a retention feature, so to speak, to keep the lines in place.

PSE-equipped cars have one-time-use clamps from the factory, so we did the same by including new clamps for re-installation.

We take these comments seriously and always aim for the best experience, and have already updated the product components to include the correct length hose for GTS cars.
Regarding the tips: coincidentally we're in the midst of an updated design, though if anyone ever has any issues in the meantime (as this is a very rare situation we have here) we stand behind the product 100%, and will work with TAG Motorsports to make sure all is well.

If you have any questions please feel free to hit me here or email me directly. Email is below!

Based on this information, not only was my AWE Switchpath shipped with the wrong length cheap hoses and zip ties, but they were the wrong hoses/clamps altogether for my PSE equipped GTS. the "story"never seems to stop changing.

Hi Josh, even if I live in Switzerland and probably the only crazy enough guy to buy AWE X pipe instead of all the European brands I need your help. I will send you a PM.

Hi Larry,

Have you had more time to assess your AWE exhaust?
How do you like it?

love it, takes the exhaust to the next level, sounds like a race car when you accelerate and the valves open.

Awesome - and when PSE is off, is it as quiet as with the regular GTS exhaust?
I need to preserve my not-obnoxious mode
