Toyo R888 for track use
Need some feedback on these tires. If you have not run these tires, please do not respond. I've done my homework on these tires, need to know how they work on track at Tremblant and Calabogie.
Thanks

I have a set on my GT3 that i use for street use (when it goes on the street) and if it's a bit wet or cold and or I'm just lazy to change to slicks or cups...
My dad hated them but I like them. They are not as fast as cups. They don't turn in as quick as cups.
They stick well and give excellent feedback though. They are better than a street tire and can be ued when it's raining when they are new. If it's your one set of track tires and you will use them when it's hot, cold, dry and wet then I think it's a good choice. They are a bit pricey though...but like the RA1's (which I like as well) they last a long time. They just don't seem to heat cycle...run them to the cords!
Of course, just my 2 cents.

I tried them. Hated them. Squirmy as hell when new unless shaved. When worn, no squirm but no more grip than street tires. Noisy as hell on the road too. Get Nitto NT01 instead. It's the Ra1 brought back. Much better choice I think. Cheaper too.

Hey Carl, been a while. Took your advice and tried nt01's!
Jim gave me a deal and I took it...just wondering how bad they get once used. Read that they get super greassy real quick.
