South Florida 5th annual Key Largo Run, Dec. 5
We skipped this fantastic drive last year and many made it known
they wanted it to come back, so .........
The 4th annual Key Largo Run to the Mariott Florida Bay for
Saturday, December 5, 2009 is officially on.
The schedule is to arrive there at 10am to 10:30am
as a complete group with bayfront parking.
The Marriott will have a breakfast Buffet waiting for us. It is $15.00+
tax/gratuity per person and and includes the following:
-- Omelet and Waffle Station
-- Bacon and Sausage
-- Scrambled Eggs
-- Breakfast Potatoes
-- French Toast or Pancakes
-- Breakfast Quesadilla
-- Vegetable Quiche
-- Breads, Muffins, Bagels, and Danish's
-- Fresh Fruit
-- Cereals
-- Assorted Milks
-- Cottage Cheese and assorted Yogurts
-- Coffee and Juices included
This is a beautiful resort right on Florida Bay. Check it out at:
http://www.marriottkeylargo.com
There is plenty of parking by the waterfront for 30 to 50 cars.
If you have to many Pina Coladas after brunch, they have offered a special
room rate of 169.00 per nite for Rennlisters (normally $200.00)
if anyone is interested, PM me and I will get you the hotel contact.
There will be 2 meeting points.
The plan is to leave Fort Lauderdale at 7:15am and meet the Miami crew 8:00am.
The Meeting points are:
Fort Lauderdale: Mobil gas station at I-595 and Flamingo Rd. NE side.
Miami: Snapper Creek service plaza on the Turnpike.
If anyone as a group is coming from from Palm Beach.
We may need to add a 3rd meeting point for the the Palm Beach crew.
In 2007 we had about 30-35 cars and about 35 to 40 people total.
So we need to know who will be joining us with a firm commitment.
Please post your responses here in this thread and it will be updated regularly.
As of today, the following are confirmed on board:
Rico
MJ Speed
Flying Finn
Ernie
Porsche Dog
Triplenet
Wanor1
hjacobs
Danny Ocean? (let me know)
.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. So...I guess that makes you "Superman".
Anyway...I won't be attending. The lack of courtesy, concern and the outright display of hostility shown by Miami drivers on the last run (I'm referring to the "civilians", not us) has made up my mind to never drive to/through Miami again, unless necessary for work (and I'll be in a huge beater F350 then) or for a hot piece of tail.
Have a fun and safe cruise, everyone. I'll see y'all in Broward or Palm Beach next time.

(I completely agree 98% of drivers suck in Miami but it's the whole friggin' South Florida that sucks in this regard.)
