Rennlist, now native on the iPhone!
We would like you to welcome you to the exclusive Rennlist iPhone Application!
You may download our new application here. Download Here
You may be thinking, great, but what does this app do?
The application works with all Apple devices running iOS 3.2 and higher.
This means the iPhone 4, iPhone 3G/3GS, iPod Touch and even the iPad!
It enables you to post, read, edit messages, upload photos, start drama in the 928 section , send PM’s and use the site pretty much as if you were sitting in front on your computer!
Do I have to pay for it?
No.
I have an Android, Nokia/Symbian, Blackberry/Windows/Motorola/Palm DynaTAC etc.
Well, too bad!
Just kidding. We are developing an Android app.
For other devices, we will continue to offer our mobile version, which enables all the core features of Rennlist (viewing/posting).
We may develop other apps in the future, depending on the need for them. We may also work on expanding the mobile version of our site, which works on all devices.
I have some feedback on the app!
Great, we would love to hear it. Please send us a review on iTunes, and also feel free to post it here!

Nice job on the avatar/poster/date and time headings on each post
Some possible points to address:
Some possible points to address:
- Selecting an individual post in order to see the images is a clever way to keep from wrecking the flow, but it wasn't immediately apparent that I could do it.
- Youtube embedding behaves similarly. What about a prominent icon on the posts with embedded items or attachments?
- How about a way to skip to the first unread post, or last page in a thread?

Not bad, Gripes: No landscape????? Ipad vs pretty rough on the text quality. I will probably just use the alternate site vs this, unless I need to add pictures to a post.

There should be a visual indicator on the subscribed threads listing showing if there's unread content. When you click a threads with no unread content it should probably take you to the most recent post, not the first post. At least the last page. On the regular site there are the normal (1 2 3 ...) page links, but that's not feasible on the small iPhone screen, so the next best thing would be to go to the end and not the beginning.
Also, it doesn't honor my default thread subscription mode. I have Rennlist set to subscribe me to threads that I post to, and it didn't subscribe me to this thread when I replied from the app.
The "Home" page seems to get easily confused about which list of threads I'm looking at. I picked "Subscribed" from the bottom [ Newest | Top | Subscribed] selector buttons, clicked the second subscribed thread from the list, but it sent me instead to the second "newest" thread from the list I wasn't looking at.
A lot of bare html bleeds through into the app. Like if I view my profile it says I'm an "Addict<b><br><font color="#CC0000">Rennli..."
Navigation is unclear and confusing. It's easy to get lost and unable to get back to where I just was.
It's unclear how to make it refresh to get new content. Going to the main menu and re-selecting forums seems like it might do that, but it's not clear. There should be an easy way to refresh whatever I'm looking at without having to re-find it, or close and restart the app.

wow, Nugget, thank you for that well thought out usability review & suggestions for improvement! I will ensure that our dev team is made aware of your points. Additionally, I will post back here if/when some of these improvements are incorporated into later versions of the app.
