Unfortunately, it is quite a bit closer to Les Cayes then the first earthquake. I've been trying to get through since early this am.. As I know more, I'll post it, OK??

It's been a long day - and just trying to get caught up... But first, again - just thank you...

All of you are amazing with your support and generosity... As well, I spent quite a bit of time in contact with a couple of folks in Haiti today, so I can also relay how appreciative those there are for your efforts. Adrien, wants me to tell you (I'm paraphrasing as it was during a phone conversation today): "please tell the people on the website that we love them like brothers..". I know they mean it - and so do I...

Anyway - simply - thank you.. Or "mesi" in kreyol...

Last night I dug deep into my email list and made personal appeals to twenty + friends, some of whom I have not talked to in quite some time.

This morning I woke up to find commitments from three people who promised to make a contribution. Hopefully more will come later.

I will work on more emails today. Gotta keep beating those bushes until every dollar has been knocked out of 'em.

OK, here is an idea I had, literally thought of it about 15min. ago.

I am in the process of building a house and am living in "temporary quarters", between a friend's house and my girlie's condo - I am all moved in but have WAY TOO MUCH stuff...I have decided to list Porsche related "boutique" items (T-shirts, die-cast cars, etc.) and have made mention in ONE auction, so far with regards to my plan to donate more to the cause.

PLEASE do not view this as "bolstering" sales, etc. - I have donated and want to help out more but am on limited funds at the moment as there are checks literally flying out the door towards my new build - I understand that many people in Haiti don't have homes/resources at the moment and this is just something I've come up with to donate more towards the effort.

Please visit the link, the first auction item will be a TRG T-shirt that I bought at a PCA race years ago - it's NEW and thought it should go to a better home.

John, if you or anyone thinks this is in bad taste, etc. - please let me be the first one to know, I did it on a whim, shootin' from the cuff and will duplicate the same mention in several other auctions over the next few days, if I have "peer approval".

ALSO, if there is a better "canned" message I can post, I'm open to suggestions, I borrowed a snippet from the Rennwish.org site and freelanced a short description of our online community below that. Again, this was all done "off the cuff" and I'm open to suggestions for improvement - anything to get the good word regarding our efforts, out there.

Maybe other Rennlist members can join in with the same idea and we can get a bunch of Porsche related items out there to boost the donations for the latest Rennwish campaign??

ALSO, if we agree this will work, is a good idea, etc. - maybe we can start a thread on this subject alone, at the least...to encompass various ideas to boost contributions. That way this particular thread isn't "hi-jacked", per say.
