When I use the "search this thread" tool within a thread, it searches the entire forum the thread is in....

This is a new problem that has come up using the same old computer.
Any ideas?
Thanks folks,

Try the following

Log out.
Delete your cookies (this can be done by going to "tools" then "options" then "delete cookies")
Log back in with the "remember me" box selected.

Ok, just so I can understand the issue, you select "new posts", then attempt to scroll through page 2 of results, page 3, etc etc. ?
I tried to do that, and I personally had no problem.

As always, thank you for working on rennlist to make it a better place.

That said, I think the old search was better, as the new one will take a word like "excellence" and dredge up tons of threads that only have the word "excellent" in them. Perhaps there is a way to make the choice to be less specific an option?

Hope this is helpful feedback,

pete

Okay, search is not bringing up any results when I search for threads started by a specific user, though I know for certain that the user has created threads.

Thanks Pete, that is really useful feedback.
We are still tweaking things like making closely associated terms bring up results.

Could you provide me the "specific user's" username by chance?
The reason I ask is that I tried searching by you user name for example and it appeared to bring up all threads that you had created.

Thanks!
Adrian

Sure, the name was Burma Shave.
I looked under both all thread started and all posts. Neither came up, when I tried. Yesterday or the day before, it would pull all posts by. I only tried for all threads today, and did so under advanced search.

Ok - thanks!

I was able to replicate.
In the mean time, you should be able to find it by going to the user profile: https://rennlist.com/forums/members/...rma-shave.html
And selecting "find threads started by user" (under "statistics")

Hmm... what user by chance?
I thought we had fixed that (I can't get the issue to re-occur).

Sorry for the inconvenience.

No problem, you may have caught us while we were fixing that problem (a user identified it earlier).

Thanks again
