Maybe IB should expend some effort on improving the system for collecting yearly renewals from paying members. This would have the following benefits:
- IB might be able to determine how many members are paying for service and put this against ad revenue and see what's what.
- A steady stream of revenue from the actual users.
- Additional revenue some of which could be invested in more better less-overworked computer nerds (I can say that 'cause I am one) for maintaining, evolving the site.
- If the above, fewer hate messages.
I will though say, that the experience on my iPad running 11.1.x is as good as it has ever been.
However, Firefox still has issues.
So I figured this thread gets attention so I am posting here.
As of today I now cannot use my Mac to respond and have to use my old PC with Vista on it as it is the only computer of several that will let me type in the response area.
I can ready and do everything else on my mac but cannot type a response. I am also getting constant pop up ads trying to load and they quit after a second. Beyond annoying and frustrating.
I tried clearing cookies and checked all setting. Everything looks to be correct but I have had it.

Are you using the Safari browser on your Mac? What Mac OS version are you using?
IOS 11.2 was working fine until this morning. Now it’s a $h1+ sandwich again.
The only thing that works at all is the quick reply pane. The ‘go advanced’ pane is broken: nearly all of the edit controls are disabled and uploading pictures fails silently.
I guess IB wants Rennlist to be read-only from now on. Is Reutterwerks still up? Maybe Pelican has gotten better...
I do note that in your screenshot above, you are in 'source' mode. I can confirm that going into source mode does disable the rest of the buttons in the editor. This is as designed however. Is that perhaps part of what's happening here?
If you start with a blank quick reply pane, then ‘go advanced’ edit controls are enabled.
Clicking ‘source’ toggles the edit controls (except for font color (? seriously? )) and changes type to a mono font. Clicking ‘source’ again erases all entered text.
So, I had to type this twice.
I’m done. I fed up. I’m happy to be Rennlist’s - apparently - only UI tester. Give me a login on your issue tracking system and I’ll start filing and following-up on issues at my short term consulting rates. I can send you my EIN and you can issue a PO.
