And.........please do NOT enter the USA !
Friend was bringing a corvette from BC to Ontario. Fortunately he met a very understanding
agent at the first attempted crossing, who told him of the potential troubles he faced because
of the lack of licencing and having temp paperwork.
So....the message is stay in Canada, and enjoy the ride.

I did a similar trip from New Brunswick in 2015.
1. I drove out a two weeks previous to look at the vehicle. I flew to N.B. to pick up the car.
2. I notified my insurance company with the vin# and they gave me a temp slip.
3. Mine was a private sale through a dealership .I paid 13% tax in N.B. I was going to use the previous owner's plate. The dealer had a fit about that. They gave me a temp. window permit.
4. I drove back through the States. I had no issues crossing at either border crossings.
The drive is roughly 90 minutes longer through the States but I had car parts waiting for me in Lewiston. The roads around Montreal were pretty rough.
5. Once in Ontario with E-test and certification I went to Service Ontario and got plates. Since I paid the 13% tax in N.B. Service Ontario said they would work it out with N.B.
Have a nice trip.

Thanks for sharing that Brian.
i also read that Nova Scotia also does a temp 30 day window sticker.
My only fear was driving with a window sticker & no rear plates. In that 20 hour journey every cop behind is bound to pull me over. Although I'll have all papers it'll just be a waste of time & hassle.

The only time the missing plate was brought up was when I crossed into the U.S. at the St. Stephens crossing. I showed the agent the bill of sale and he let me through.
As long as you have all of the paper work you'll be fine.

Choose your weather carefully. They are still having big snow storms out that way.
Consider getting you new baby stone guarded before pick up.
Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec use a lot of sand on their road. Well some sand and a lot of small rocks. My maritime friends are pretty happy with one or two windshield replacements per year.
Raise your windshield insurance deductible.... later.
Don't tailgate.

Thanks for all the comments folks. I am planning on driving end of April & its showing approx 8 degrees around that time.
So I am thinking of stopping at Canadian Tire before heading out to pick up a few things:
1) Tire patch kit
2) Few quartz Engine Oil
What else do you guys recommend for roadside emergency since our Car don't really have a spare tire.

You might consider CAA plus or premium or whatever. I had my car flatbedded back from Tremblant to Montreal once, it saved me a pile of money right there!

tire patch kit, agreed.
I added jack, wheel wrench, vice grips.
air compressor/booster pack.
Fresh tire goo, or tire infiltrator goo can.
Work gloves for my dainty hands.
