Any descent muffler shop can do it too, there isn't much to it, just show them a picture what you want and that's it.

I only heard sound clips of them. Too many variable to iron out but the end results all seem about the same.. PSE has a certain note and the Fister bypass as well. As you heard in my sound clip, this "super gundo" is a combo of them.. Fister grunt is noticed at the bottom end, then PSE note more on upper RPM's.

My main concern was it was too loud and drone.. No drone and so far, I'm happy with decibals.. I have yet to take it out on a long drive due to weather.

were you concerned with the mid range torque loss?
how is the experience with the super gundo hack?

Good piece on Mike http://www.pfaffauto.com/2015/04/08/...er-black-belt/
mike charges $1300 with exchange for original muffler. this is out of budget for me to be honest. i would rather go with another type. fister or super gundo.

$1300 for a hack with exchange LOL

I have my whole brand new mufflers shipped from the UK and installed for less than that. Now whether you like the sound will be another matter but the build quality is pretty good for the price.

i called them and spoke to Steve. Do I need to take out the assembly and take it to them to work? OR they would be able to take out themselves?
Steve said he won't have to take out the assembly - which was kind of strange.... as all pics and posts i have seen have removed the muffler from the car.

1300 to do a gundo hack in the car seems a little pricey. But thats to me with the tools and the means......... sometimes ou have to get your fingers dirty..... I think to get good quality welds you need to take these out but thats just .02

For what it sounds like your looking for I would recommend you go the Tech Tune route. No drone, minor sound increase at idle more bark at WOT. If your not happy with the results I'm sure there someone who would be willing to swap you there factory mufflers.

$1300??!!??!! Must be some soft of a Porsche tax.

Local shop in Kitchener did it for a buddy of mine for $250 when the muffler were brought in (removed from the car) and I thought that was expensive.

Argus Automotive in OAKVILLE does all my Porsche work. Nick did my Fister hack with a 3" tube and squeezed it and made a great sound. Not obnoxious, but I wanted more and built a custom full exhaust with high flow cats. O2 sensors on and no fault codes. He still has the jig he made mine from (997.1) and has a jig for 996 C4S.
Why I'm saying that is because he built my whole exhaust for $2000, how can someone charge $1300 for the hack.
I know he has a good set of 997.1 mufflers on the shelf that he could hack for you.
Here is a pic of my hack, no drone. Not obnoxious.
The guys who were on the Hershey drive last April liked the sound.

Here is the full exhaust Nick did on my car. If you want obnoxious, this is it when combo with the hack. No drone, but for me not daily driver. Only used to annoy neighbors on the weekend.

hi guys,
anyone used L&G Auto for Gundo/Fister Hack? They seem to have done some work on Porsche in the past. However looking at the pics on their website, welding doesn't look so neat.
http://www.lgautoexhaust.ca/

I saw their ad on kijiji that they have promotion on Gundo Hack for $300 including labour for removing the mufflers. All I need to do is to take my car there.

The ad says $300 each, is that per muffler?

Looks like most of these companies are doing the Fister D style mod, not the Gundo hack. The work by Argus in Oakville looks good.

The only thing I don't like about the above welding is it looks like they used steel pipe and MIG welded it with regular wire. Simple magnet test would confirm this.
Likely it will last quite a while, but it will rust and fail from stress or corrosion at some point.
IMO Why would you use mild steel on a SS exhaust?
East GTA I can do this TIG with 304 SS tube.

That sounds like half of the fee goes to Porsche Oakville for using its facility.
