ADT has a wireless garage door sensor as part of their home alarm package for $75. No reason for garage thefts.

 

People often forget that the VIN before export is also stamped on the fire wall of the 944 series. Its the same VIN, just missing the country code. A quick look if they match is easy... and you can't "replace" that vin or scrub it off without being obvious.

 

yeah but you can put the car in a container and ship to a place where they don't give a rats ***.

 

This second VIN location is a good point of verification for the 944 series but Border Staff would not know this and would prolly just look at the obvious place where everyone else looks.

The VIN is also stamped on the rolled-over metal lip that holds the carpet in the hatch down, under the rear seat backs.

I just read on the weekend there was a major car theft ring in Toronto busted . They recovered over 100 cars ready to go on containers.

here is hoping the POs car is one of them.

I doubt they will find the 944 in this bust as they stole Japanese SUVs.

 

He was been taken care of so this won't happen again!

 

most systems can be beaten. Where there is a will there is a way. Hopefully he is not broken into again.

 

Putting an alarm in will only do so much, securing the building is just as important. Why even let them get in if you can avoid it.

I have them on my cars and bikes. You know where your toys are and can set up fences to alert you when toys leave a safe area. They're about the size of an oldschool small pager. They're inexpensive to run.
