Fellow Canadians, where do you get your parts?
I'm looking at getting a used 2012 911 991 and I'm a DIY guy. Oil changes, air filter changes, belts everything will mostly be done by me.
The question is, where can I get the parts needed? Where can you buy the air filters, oil filters, oil pan washers, etc and etc. If I need a new alternator, where do I obtain in, in Canada, except the overpriced dealership cost?
Thanks

Just for comapring... do you know any price on the top of head?

These links from a little clicking around. Not apples to apples as these are referring to service intervals & not the actual parts. The $$$$ stated in the links below are in USD too etc.. but pretty close:

Edit: No idea if this helps you at all but thought I'd throw it in anyways:

I was just being silly but for a 991, gosh, I have no idea. I've picked up sway bar bushings for my 944 S2 and paid about the same as what the after market/performance oriented replacements would've cost.. Not a huge deal as they had them arrive within 2 days from down south & mine were completely worn out and I needed them asap. Anyways, I know from just clicking around that Porsche Vancouver has a "Parts Order Inquiry" link on their website. Don't think your dealer would mind if you just asked for a quote. I wouldn't put any bets on them being cheaper than online though.

You know what, I will go send an inquiry directly. I'm sure non dealer will always be cheaper but I'm just wondering by how much

I added a few more links in there too since you replied.

I don't see in the maintenance schedule.
EDIT: Is that just the second oil change? (10k mile interval oil change)

Yeah I noticed that too now that you mentioned it. Unless I'm misreading the service literature, I would believe it's the second oil change, yes. The dealer or one who wanted to follow service by the book would go through each of those little bullet points up to/excluding the first bold title at the bottom of the first page that reads, "Additional Maintenance" unless the car is of age or at the specified mileage to perform the service, obviously. "Every 2 Years" is the first one to be more than just an oil change on top of the other basic bullet points despite being half way down the second page... Found that a bit cryptic.

Its never a bad idea to periodically check dealer prices against others. Sometimes we assume, but not always accurate.

Canada's Whale Tail offers parts for 997s which were made 'til 2012 so they might be the ticket: http://whaletailcanada.com/index.html
