Default 991 "interim" service-fed up with price difference

I had that pesky "interim service" indicator come up after another year of use on my 991. I've had the C2S for 2 years with 7,000 miles on the clock. I called the dealer to set up an appointment for service. so I ask "how much?" he says $933.
What!
Now i do not change oil on my own. I've seen prices mentioned on the forum from $350-infinity for this service.
Why do we always have to be faced with some dealers thinking we are rich and stupid and dont give a sh-- about the money? Will it ever end?

What are they doing for $933?

At 2 years you need:

Oil change
Brake fluid flush
Cabin filters (2)- maybe

Agree, total rip off. Only alternative is do it yourself or get an indy to do it. I told my dealer that I would do it myself, they said fine, but if I did they would not remove the reminder because they did not do the service.

$933 for a 2 year is the most expensive that I've seen to date.
Did they give you a breakdown of what you're getting for $933?

For $933 they will do:

Oil change
Brake fluid flush
Cabin filters (2) if needed
Wiper blade replacement

Have them only do an oil change and brake fluid. About $500ish.

You do your own filters and wipers. Buy parts from Sunset Porsche.

I did it myself and paid the dealer $35 to reset the service indicator.

Did I see "Boca Raton-Santa Monica" next to your avatar? I think that answers your question.

No, just because you live in a nice area doesn't make it right. I live in a nice side of town, moving from the not-quite-as-nice side of the same town, and I've noticed that food at the same grocery story chain is more expensive than it was. That ain't right.

Go ask the guys and gals in the 993 Forum or 993 Turbo Forum if they can drive their 911s for 2 years and 7,000 miles for $933. LOL!

I mean really. $933 is $38.88/month. Is this really an issue??

Not an issue I'm sure for anyone here, but it doesn't make it right. Seems a bit like taking advantage.

So how much should it be (by a dealership) for the items the OP listed?

Good point! It does appear to be market based. Where I'm at, it's $635.00. Pricing seems to be all over the place!

This topic comes up a few times a year. It's all been covered before. Some things just cost more dealing with a Porsche dealer and a 100K+ car. It's also helps pay for the Cayenne they'll give you as a loaner

Don't expect Honda dealer pricing here. It's not a Civic.

Look at parts pricing and all the good stuff on Suncoast Porsche Parts website. Not Walmart.

New tires?? 2K a set. Not a Fleet Farm $299 special.

Depreciation on these cars? 30K in less than 2 years on a new car. You could pay for that Civic in full for that!

I think the problem lies (at least for me) in swapping out $150 worth of parts in about two hours of real time (versus book time) for nearly $1000. And it's not like they're adjusting valves or setting cam timing, it's a freakin' oil change and flushing brakes. Come on!
