+1. He's just not big on we rennlist tech "experts" even if we're correct on some issue.

C'mon, you kidding me.

You post something on kijjiji and YOU have expectations. It's the wild west. I love kijjiji especially because of the different cultures. It's better than flea markets.

I love kijiji too! Mostly FOR this reason. Just got rid of an A4 in running condition but needing work and a bit rusty... You should have seen some of the responses! I like to play games with them... like when they lowball I'll say OK then never respond again... if you can find it I might sell it to you at your price, but don't count on it....

However, I don't get why someone needs to drag his name into an unrelated discussion and call him an "a hole"...
I've purchased parts from Brent. He was very helpful. I never met the man before. I needed injectors, he referred me to a shop that re-builds them.
His name came up at Mosport yesterday. I spoke with 2 people with 2 different cars (3.2 targa/ Cayman). Both couldn't say anything bad about him.
Just sayin.

Back to the topic.

Just sold my late brother's Ford Ranger on Kijiji. It was pretty easy; the first guy to see it, took it.

I don't buy / sell stuff that often on the internet, so I wasn't looking forward to selling it, especially after the Bosma incident.

My 993 also sold easily, 18 months ago.

yes... I did ... I got 350 for it and the guy came and put it on a flatbed no hassles. was a funny experience .

I did recently list a very nice condition queen matress frame, and a canopy bed all for 125 bucks , I of course got a ton of calls from people saying they would be right over.

one girl emailed me and asked how low I would actually go and if I would deliver it.
I told her the lowest I could possibly go was 150 plus 75 to deliver it. ( yes it can be fun )

I had our daughter's old bike listed on kijiji for $25. I got countless emails offering $10, $15, all of which I accepted, but none of which showed up. Some even emailed back and forth for days. I eventually took it and a bunch of other stuff I was going to list up to the ReStore. I'd rather a charity get something out of it then some flake from kijiji.

I'm often in the same boat. I would rather re purpose an item, with someone deserving. Kijijijijij is great, but really? dealing with the no-show or stupid offers. I would rather restore. Additional funny - I find the Toronto goodwill/salvation army people very ... entitled. That bike is the wrong colour, we don't take kids toys.
I often drive my re purpose items up to Clollingwood or bracebridge.
My mum was house downsizing. I had extra beds. Toronto wanted them vacuum sealed and fumigated. ( I can kind of understand that? But really they are clean and I'm trying not to incur any additional costs to my re purposing). I took them up to Bracebridge. 6 twin beds and box springs. Went by the week after they were all gone and they needed more. To me, that was worth the only slightly added work.
theiceman- glad your OOOO is off the lot. What are you going to do with all that free space? You must feel very ZEN.
