I have a lot of experience with Brent, all of it good. He has also done me a few real favours.
I'm not doubting that (like others) he can have "less good" moments and I am sure your experiences are true and valid, as are mine.
However, I don't get why someone needs to drag his name into an unrelated discussion and call him an "a hole"...

My wife's X5 was in for an oil change. They found a leak at the oil filter housing, car out of manufacturer warranty, but I have extended aftermarket warranty, sold to me by this dealer. They did the repair, I paid a deductible, plus oil and inspection. $7oo.
Three days later car started making noise in Collingwood, wife drove it home.. now five days and noise is getting catastrophic.
Took the vehicle in. Oil starvation, smoked connecting rod bearing off #1 and#2.
After many battles and discussions new engine. Long story ...
After 58 days I got the car back. In talking to the Service manager of the dealership, I commented that after 58 days I though my car should have been delivered back at least detailed and as new-ish. Maybe send a shuttle up to pick me up, or maybe deliver the car back to me?
Instead it was run through the car wash. Mats knocked out, dirty mats, and interior and engine bay was dusty from everything being open for two months at the dealership. I know how clean my car was as I had just OCD cleaned it that sunday before I dropped it off. In my polite explanation of my service experience, the service manager said to me....
"I want to punch you in the face".
I will google the website, and look up his last name. Perhaps I can cross reference a cultural translation to that statement? I'm pretty sure there is none.

just kidding but your engine looks cleaner then any of mine ever had. Does any dealership detail the inside of a car after service? Even an obviously big service? I honestly have no idea.

In all honesty, WTF was your wife thinking driving it home from Collingwood AND THEN keept driving it even more, when things were getting worse and worse? Either you teach her the basics of car maintenance and what to do when something goes wrong OR time to hang up her keys.

Not trying to derail the original Kijijijij rant of internet creepers.
Just comparing horror stories.
I am certainly car OSD. After the dealership had my car for two months, my fuse was/is very short. 5-8 day periods of unanswered emails and voicemail, polity inquiring about the status of my vehicle.
Getting a dirty car back, after having it for 58 days, I was a little disappointed.
It did expect it to come back dirty and just rinsed.
I purchase mechanical coverage, not clean and polish package. I do see your point petee1997- I see in your signature you have a Porsche and two Benz's. I would assume your Benz come back clean after a service for the day. Your 17' 991? Probably has not even been in yet.
Having the service manager, say to me, "I want to punch you in the face".
Reprehensible.
I'm all good now. Spent Saturday afternoon cleaning and tooth brushing the interior.
13 year old hopped in the back seat when we went out for diner sat night. He slipped on the rear scrubbed and dressed weathertech's. He said " oooh slippery, I love it when they're clean".
To loop back to the original subject. Crazies are everywhere. Its a shame they can even hide in plain sight.
Continuing to spread the BMW dealership service experience.
This is my idea of clean.

I had to clear out my parents place this past winter and I sold a lot of things through Kijiji. The price point is definitely a factor. It seems the lower you go with price, the more difficult the buyer. Having said that, I had some really good experiences, I sold a lot of my Dad's carpentry tools to young 20 something guys wanting to start in the hobby. I thought they all just played video games and tweeted!
But, the Tim Bosma affair has tainted the whole experience. I have met buyers in a public place just to not have them at my home, it's a shame really.
And maybe I'm old fashioned and politely Canadian but I usually would offer someone 20 per cent lower than asking not more than 50 per cent.

I have to say something here. If you think someone is an a hole, call him up and tell him.
Saying it from a keyboard, and not to his face, is spineless.
Maybe if this thread was about his shop, but just out of the blue?

Don't take it personally. They likely mean no harm, just some language barriers and typical old country mentality.
I too am of Russian descent, so are most of my employees and many east European clients.
I still find it difficult to understand the approach at times.
They will bend but will never break and usually wil be fair in the end and turn to a friendly demeanour.
Kijiji is a funny place. I had my jeep listed for about 2 weeks last year and entertained all kinds of oddballs. A friend suggested I raise the price, so I took him up on it and upped it by $2000.
Sold it a week later for $500 more than my original ask to a great guy. But he would text me for months with some minuscule issues he would encounter with this 9 year old truck. Kept asking "what am I going to do about it"? Finally I had to remind him not very politely that it now belongs to him and he should be asking himself the question.
