The guy took the shell of a political party and not only brought it back from the dead but in a very short time inspired enough voters to build a significant majority. Some idiot.

the fact that a lot of idiots voted to him does not mean he himself is still not an idiot.

This is the basis for my comment.

"I think based on his track record we can call him an idiot lol"

His track record proves he is far from being an idiot.

To generalize a large portion of people as idiots only shows ignorance to the larger picture at hand. The people want change and have spoken, and yes maybe this change is not right one. These are simply growing pains that will hopefully be catalyst to a greater shift in our government during the next election.

Fair point. I am resolved not to call people fools. In the end, the elections are over. We have to accept the result.

Wanting change is normal. We will see how well the elected government succeeds...

you are proving my point. to cast your vote for the "anyone but [x]" candidate only further shows the stupidity of people. look at all the people who loathe Obama and are voting for Trump!! Sure, he is great entertainment during the GOP debates, but he makes Ford look like Abe Lincoln.

Just like most people think they are great drivers most people think they are smart.
It can't be true

One could also argue that the ones who are stupid are the former elected officials. They have eroded the trust of the people to a point where the people are now making emotional decisions.

It's a dangerous situation for sure, and I hope we come out stronger at the other end.

I recently read a great blog post and associated paper on this very topic. It's fascinating and sad. I encourage you to read it.

http://theness.com/neurologicablog/i...-of-knowledge/

The sad part is, while everyone thinks they are smarter than they really are, ignorant people overestimate their knowledge more than those with genuine expertise, something called the "Dunning-Kruger effect".

“What’s curious is that, in many cases, incompetence does not leave people disoriented, perplexed, or cautious. Instead, the incompetent are often blessed with an inappropriate confidence, buoyed by something that feels to them like knowledge.”

Whether or not Justin is a victim of the Dunning-Kruger effect I'll leave you to decide for yourselves.
