Speaking of speed comparison, since I have never tracked a car, what would be considered dissent lap times in cars for Mosport and Calabogie? I know that this may be a bit off topic, but I would love to compare those times with what I am doing on my bike.
Driving your Porsche's must feel slow to some of you.
I don't really drive the Porsche to get the real adrenaline rush the bikes do that far more than any car ever could but drive the car because I love the feel the quality and history of Porsche!!

However, operating under the assumption this thread exists at least partially for an excuse to look at pictures of bikes, here's my 944's newest stablemate:
For those less familiar with motorcycles, it's a 1990/91 (I forget which) BMW R100GS. It needs a new driveshaft, but the engine runs well. Clearly, the seat could use some attention/replacement, too. The current plan is to take it down to the frame, remove rust, powder coat, and re-assemble. And yes, those are 3 (well 2 1/2) KLRs in the background. None functioning currently. And there's a Suzuki cruiser of some sort hidden in the back.
My housemate may have a problem...

Brilliant ride! Old GSs are awesome. Always wanted one. The Barbie KLR is very cool too, and getting rarer. Both are seriously tough. KLR even had it's own IMS in the form of the infamous "doohickey" I put a lot of miles on my old KLR.
Ah, the doohickey... We just finished putting the upgrade/replacement part on 2 of the KLRs, that "barbie" one and another which was recently sold. My housemate has been riding his main KLR for 8 years or so now, and somewhere over 40,000 miles. It has yet to let him down. Clearly he has a thing for rugged bikes.

Congratulations! You might want to weld in some reinforcements when you have the frame stripped, as they flex somewhat. There is lots of information on this on the Airhead forums, and HPN has kits (no association):
Thanks for the tip Rinty! Good to know. There's a good chance this bike will be making the trek from California to the Dalton highway at some point, so it'll have to deal with being loaded up. While the bike is already dismantled for powder coating is definitely the best time to strengthen the frame...
That's a great looking R100RS. There's something about the design of the airheads that's incredibly appealing to me, both mechanically and visually.
Nice bikes guys! It only makes sense that alot of people that are into fast cars like porsches, would also be into other fast things like motorcycles
I'm new to motorcycles, I have been admiring them for awhile and I have been meaning to get my licence and get a motorcycle for atleast the last 4-5 years... each year always passed me by without any progress just researching.
Anyways this last year I got my licence, did the course... I had alot of time to look at bikes over the last few years and go through all the normal debates as to what size bike to get etc etc..
I was pretty sure I was going to get a Ninja 500, but last minute I discovered the KTM 390's and got an KTM RC 390... Its great to drive! I'm glad I didnt get a bigger bike the learn on, its been very forgiving but still very fast as its only 350lbs wet!
I'v upgraded the exhaust, ECU, Intake plus some other stuff... it goes pretty quick but the riding position is pretty aggressive so it suffers on long rides.
I bought that silver 944 turbo in the background of one of the pictures early this year, but didn't drive it very much partly do it needing alot of work but also because I was having so much fun on my bike!
Keep the pics coming guys!
I stopped ridding street back in 2003 when a very good friend died right in front of me. Maybe one day ill get back into street bikes when cars are flying
