Anyone snowmobile?

The Ski-Doo 4 strokes are tough to beat for low cost of ownership and near bullet proof operation the 900 ACE engine family doo is producing is top notch. For two up have a look at the touring sleds ski-doo offers.
My wife had never snowmobiled in her life when we got married at (23) I introduced her to it on her own sled. Shes now an avid rider and drivers herself she would never want to ride with me.

I've been kicking this around for a while. In 2013 wifey and I did a guided tour in Algonquin and we both loved it!
What would you guys recommend for an entry level sled new? Not a speed freak but want something that can keep up, is comfortable for 2 and fairly reliable.
Thoughts?

Do not go 4 stroke they are fat heavy and for old farts or slow riders who just want to tour which I don't think you would like. Google reviews and go to dealers. All new sleds are quick and comfortable....just don't go 4 stroke ever

4 stroke is the way to go if you don't want to regularly rebuild the engine. The 2 strokes make more power but their design flaw is that they wear out. The only oil they get is through the fuel. My brother's RX-1is heavy when you get stuck but otherwise it's nimble and fast.
I see Noble is starting the pissing contest already but trust me. For an entry sled, any low mileage well kept machine will do. They are ALL fun to ride. Doesn't really matter what it is, asong as it's a snowmobile. I drive mine around the neighborhood after a big snowstorm. Thought I was the only moron doing this until I ran into another sled at the stop sign 2 streets over.

Polaris has some great sleds. I'm not a brand ***** but I prefer the Polaris ride handing and power the last few years. I have owned ski doo as well.

back to the 900 ACE suggestion my wife rides one it does almost 100 mph, has drive by wire throttle really easy on her hands etc... its a quiet great starter machine for anyone looking to join the sport.

My cat is 250 hp, kinda far from something slow. 130 mph in 660' on snow. 4 strokes are the future of the sport. I have had my fill of both tried an 800 2 stroke again last season to see after being a 4 stroke guy for the last few. Blew the engine up 2 times on a 2015. back to the 900 ACE suggestion my wife rides one it does almost 100 mph, has drive by wire throttle really easy on her hands etc... its a quiet great starter machine for anyone looking to join the sport.

You definetly ride like an old fart
I like high performance. There is no 4 stroke sled that out accelerates and out corners the equivalent 2 stroke period. You can argue the merits of 4 stroke all you want but they are heavy pigs and not high performance.

If a 4 stroke accelerates slowly how do you explain my pump gas trail machine running 130 mph not km/h in 660 feet? 4 strokes hold all the world records for current 1/4 mile 660' times and 500' times far from slow.

I guess we will have a difference of opinion here. I can ride / own anything I want. I ride 10,000 km + a winter I've got a pretty good handle on how a sled should ride / handle.

It's not opinion. They are heavy pigs just look at the stats.
You want performance you buy 2 stroke you want a heavy sled to putt putt on you buy 4 stroke.
You do 10000 Kim's so you obviously like touring. I like speed and cornering . 2 stroke only provide that now. No manufacturer is building their top performance trail or race sled in 4 stroke

Polaris Rush Axys 800 pro S weight 431 pounds 2 stroke
Ski doo 1200 weight 507 pounds 4 stroke
Game over,
Only slow, or touring ,high mileage or non performance oriented riders buy 4 stroke.
Which is fine....slow and sad,....but fine

Even a Harley can reach 130mph so big deal. 600hp turbo race sleds don't have anything to do with trail riding .

I do like to ride my point is by statistics I ride 3 to 4 times as much as the average guy, all weekends, no nights just daytime riding. Typically run 800+ km a on a Saturday and Sunday. I know for a fact 90% of riders don't or can't do this because they cannot run the pace. This is fact. As for no manufacturer building theyr top performance sled as a 4 stroke your completely wrong. Arctic cats ZR 9000 TURBO is a 4 stroke and their TOP high performance sled.
Here is their trail section check out the big dog http://ca.www.arcticcat.com/snow/sleds/trail/
I'll bow out as its your thread and I have no interest in arguing, I just dislike misinformation being spread around. Let me know how many seasons it takes to hit 10k on that rush I'll betcha it takes more than one engine as well.
