There is room but don't think I can swing the 100k without selling the Turbo which I want to keep. I'd rather sell the C4S but it is pretty much worthless today and that doesn't help at all.

So beautiful.
I fear with the exception of the GT3, the 911 is getting a bit GT'ish but the Cayman seems like a more raw and visceral sports car

I totally agree Will. I consider my 911 a GT, not a pure sports car. Of course, thats exactly what I wanted. A sporty Aston Martin. The GT4 would make a much better track car. BUT, I want luxury as well with moonroof,Burmester, heated everything etc. so the 911 still has a huge market but for those that want a highly focused track car the GT4 might be just the ticket.

I would be nice to get one for the weekend track days and keep the GTS as a daily driver!

I'd love to get the GT4 (or a GT3 for that matter).
Love the engines, brakes and suspension on them. I've never been a fan of Turbo's, but always loved these pinnacles of naturally aspirated motors.

However, my tracking days are 3 decades in my past and I drive on real world roads.

Wish they would sell these GT's WITHOUT aprons and spoilers (race exterior delete option?).

Beautiful car that will, no doubt, sell well. Curious as to why there is no PDK offered in the options list since it's been so hotly contested and debated in the 911.

Unscrew them.

AP explains this in the video interview. Not enough development time. Each one requires different gearing and testing. Same reason the GT3 doesn't have both options offered. They have heard a cry from customers wanting manual.

Personally I'd buy a 991 GT3 in manual over a PDK car, I'd never buy a PDK GT3 or a used one so they lost one repeat customer for any future sale or used car sale.

Well then. I can't wait to hear what Ronin says about a PDK GT3RS.

He'll doubtless feel it's an amazing car as have Chris Harris and every other journalist who's reviewed it. If I were racing fender to fender, I'd take a PDK because it would make me quicker and let me concentrate on the line and other variables. For the road, however, it's all about fun and driver engagement and that necessitates a manual. Since I'll never be a racer, it'll be a manual for me as long as my ski knees hold out!

The perfect complement to a 997tt! Wish I could have both, but I'm probably looking at 120k plus taxes for a nicely spec'd GT4...

I am sure Ronan would buy what ever it comes in and not be phased at transmission it came in. He's had them all manual since then 70's gearboxes and I am sure he would love to have a modern F1 type paddle gearbox in a 911 for a change.
Though oly a few years ago with the release of the 997.2 RS the head designer for GT cars was quoted as saying paddles are for grandmas and before that Hurley Haywood was spouting how the 996 tiptrontic was better then manual.

Honestly I prefer a hand clutch on a motor bike to even a 3 pedal car, there just aint any better control then that and unless a pdk car also has a 3rd pedal and a ability to swtich to a 6 speed shift type gear box at the press of a button and maybe a gear shift level lock mech then it just will never be engaging enough for me to warrant spending my money on.
